Eylül 2007all the charm of a village fete? the organisers should be sued under the trades descriptions act for false advertising. Very disappointed by the lack of karaoke, quiz rave, burlesque, brass band, welly throwing, morris dancing and the pathetic lack of fete type activities at all!! Vegan food? hello??? Couldn't even leave to get something to eat and come back in. i still have a bad taste in

Despite the queues it did only cost £25, and I got to see Liars (who were amazing), Battles, Fridge and loads more, so I'm not going to complain. Sort out the queues, sound and keep the same price and next year will be great.

Ağustos 2007PLUS, I think for most it was still way worth it for some highlight or other. (There were a good few IMO, and some I obviously missed.) I would have paid twice and endured no beer and longer loo queues (as I said in my review) for the Liars show. They never play, and it was just incredible in there. In-credible.

Ağustos 2007Oh come on. Those of you who think it's easy, go ahead and organise your own festival, and see how easy it goes for you (hint: I've done it, and it's not as easy as it seems). They fucked up, this is true, but at least give them the benefit of the doubt for next year. It's oh so easy to criticise without really appreciating the effort that's gone into it.

Ağustos 2007I managed to see the bands I wanted without major clashes, although I had to queue for 1 hour to get a beer... Queue to the toilet was massive, and ended up going to the gents where the queue was smaller and there were plenty of other women as well... Teething problems, which I hope will be sorted by next year. Great great day and Fridge were my band of the day!

Ağustos 2007just don't pee or drink :D :D my biggest dissapointment was the fact late of the pier or whatever they are called were late, therefore causing liars to clash with four tet...and obviously basically everyone there wanted to see them both. fucking fucking.

Ağustos 2007Thank God it was over 18s only - if a couple of snotty teens had started blasting out some garage tunes on their mobiles they'd have had the loudest sound system in the place. I can understand them making you empty your bottles on the way in, but not letting you bring bottles in at all was appalling. Meant I had to bribe one of the overpriced smoothies stalls £4 to give me an empty cup.

Ağustos 2007check out the 'apology' - http://www.eatyourownears.com/news.php Pathetic really. If they knew how many people were coming then surely they would have provided enough toilets. And not allowing you to bring your own water in and then selling out by about 3pm has to be bordering on illegal.
-
braiken şunu yazdı:
Ağustos 2007They should have had more bars and / or more people working behind them. I swear that when we queued up there were only 4 people serving. They should have seen what was going on and organised some wrist bands so that people could have gone to a nearby pub or off license (and drunk outside the gates) and come back to the festival. Also, where was the pear cider promised in the Field Day FAQ?

Ağustos 2007Field Day.... more life Failed Day... arf! Seriously... what was with the sound... watched Justice from practically inside the sound tent at one stage and it was still quiet... U could hear it cutting out... so so disappointing... yet cheap...
-
WattsRadio şunu yazdı:
Ağustos 2007I left happy enough - mainly due to Electrelane and Justice - but not sure if I'll be back. Sound often poor - Battles especially, and a gross underestimate of the kind of facilities needed if you're going to lock people in rather than allow re-entry. Yes it was cheap considering the line-up, but if a second of time is worth an ounce of gold, I more than paid for my ticket in those queues.

Ağustos 2007I wasn't drinking, but there weren't really that many alternatives to the 1 hr bar. Where were the 'nice' food stalls? The tiny Innocent Fete got so many more things right. Agree about the sound too, this is what really killed it for me. James Yorkston actually said half was through his set that he was distracted by the neighbouring dance tent and I'm not surprised as we couldn't hear him either.
-
kevinlit şunu yazdı:
Ağustos 2007Roisin I agree that there is a health and safety issue to consider. Yes the bar queues and poor food choice are annoying but not critical. Inadequate toilets and water are a different matter. Especially as they confiscated water and soft drinks from people at the gate on a hot day.
-

Ağustos 2007Waiting for beer is one thing...ok bad but not the end of the world. But an hour wait for the toilet? Surely thats got to be illegal somewhere down the line...

Cennydd şunu yazdı:
Ağustos 2007I'm rather torn on this. £22 to see Battles, Electrelane, Liars still has to be classed as a bargain, but the whole day was pretty much ruined by the problems noted below. Even for a first-time festival, the queues were utterly unforgivable. Still, higher hopes for 2008.
-
andover şunu yazdı:
Ağustos 2007As much as I agree with the whole beer/toilet queue problem. I must say that at the end of the day. It's just beer you're waiting for. I'm a kiwi, and we have a few festivals back in NZ. Big Day Out being one of them, and if you were to attend a BDO festival you will notice no one drinks, no one feels the need to. I guess its two very similar cultures, but different. I don't know.

SamJG87 şunu yazdı:
Ağustos 2007Awful organisation. Reasonably good line-up but there were too many problems. Obvious ones being that it was a 10,000 capacity festival, yet there were very few toilets, only two bars, not enough food stands, but perhaps most importantly - the PA systems were far too quiet. The only highlight for me was Four Tet. I do wish I'd stayed in.
-
y2penni şunu yazdı:
Ağustos 2007Highlights for me were Battles, Erol Alkan and The Liars (for several reasons)... but then spent half my life queueing for beers... sucky, but a great day.

Ağustos 2007Terrible sound, ridiculous queues (anything from 30 minutes to 2 hours to get a beer, seriously), generally pretty disappointing. Battles were OK, but were much better at ATP earlier in the year.
-
JH_2007 şunu yazdı:
Ağustos 2007Yeah the queues were bad and the sound quality at the 'eat your own ears stage' was not good. Thought it was OK for Liars though (who were brilliant) Although the lateness of Liars coming on made me miss four tet, one of the main reasons for me going. Good day, but terrible organisation as everyone has said.
