And to be honest, I was expecting a generally more bass orientated set from AC seeing as thought that's what they set out for with MPP, it being produced by Ben Allen 'n' all. Overall a terrific knees up though.

I thought it was pretty funny when the Highlife guy was like "could I have a little less vocal in my monitors please?". I was like chyeah, how about a little less vocals in the whole fucking venue please. That shit was loud and nasty.

I missed banshee beat, so annoyed it is untrue, none the less great set I got a dance in and it was nice to see other people moving, quite a nice crowd there, brother sport was hot, fireworks and my girls were brilliant too! Sound wasn't at its best in some parts, I saw Geologist go to what im guessing is the sound tech window and stuff, though for the rest of the show I guess he was to busy rocking his head from side to side to sort the sound out ;) Definately gonna get tickets next time they come around. Highlife- well I searched them on myspace and it came up with two jamacan guys, so it wasn't what I expected, sounded like a kinda whinier and kinda more rubbish and slow neutral milk hotel to me really. Oh well! Hope everyone else had a blast!

Academy 2 is actually my least favourite, terrible sound at every gig I've been to there (to the point of bands sometimes getting visibly annoyed with it onstage), could just be my luck.

i thought the sound was good. it's never going to sound like it would on headphones or anything is it, never would at any venue. and academy 3 would have been too small as a venue this time round, academy 2 or the ritz next time round maybe.

I didn't think the sound was very good and I wasn't particularly far from the stage. Reminds me a little of when they played Academy 3 a couple of years ago, where the sound was also quite poor. I'm not sure the venue is to blame as I've never had that problem with any other band I've seen there. Anyway, whilst they didn't blow me away, I still enjoyed it and as someone else said, the crowd seemed much more into it than they have in the past (that's the 5th time I've seen them now, I'm getting oooold!)

So, people who thought it didn't sound great, were you all lingering at the back? Because club academy's ceilings are pretty low it could've been pretty muddy if you weren't right at the front.
