Put big bands on bigger stages.....watching Grimes and SBTRKT outside the tents was infuriating

Had a lovely day, which I didn't expect given what commenters had said about the previous ones. Got to see Grimes, Andrew Bird, Beirut, Metronomy, most of the Vaccines set, the first 20 minutes of Mazzy Star and last 30 minutes of Franz Ferdinand. All amazing, though I admit yes, there was a lot of loud conversation at Beirut - i felt, more than anything, the timing was wrong, they would have suited being on after Andrew Bird, when it was still early and sunny. Other than that, tiny queues at the bars, really friendly people, and some great music. I really enjoyed myself! Totally worth any sickness my friend and I got from dancing out in the rain haha. Will def. go next year if they have as good a line up :)

literally the best day i've had in a long time. sound was brilliant, queues were minimal, overcrowding was slight (but easily avoidable by arriving at a tent 10 mins early) i arrived as the doors opened, so entered without trouble. i queued 5 minutes for a cider. i had almost perfect sound for many things - Metronomy was like listening to the album. i saw full sets by: julia holter, r stevie moore, jeffrey lewis, metronomy, sleigh bells, and MOST of friends, blood orange, andrew bird and franz ferdinand. definitely going again, it was almost flawless. one nag - there were a couple of dicks (two guys being c*nts and attempting to mosh and start fights at Jeffrey Lewis).

Compared to last year I felt the talking and people generally not paying attention was less prevalent - I guess that's incredibly subjective to which acts/where I was standing though. My experience is that generally London gigs tend to have worse gig etiquette than elsewhere in the UK anyway

these last two comments are the only evidence i have that anyone else found the crowds really hard to deal with! grimes was completely ruined for me by people having loud conversations even towards the front of the crowd, really really disappointing will never go again

I was really enjoying this festival until the Beirut set was ruined by yellers and people who just wanted a soundtracked conversation. I was so looking forward to seeing them. For what it's worth, Beirut sounded amazing for what I could hear, and Summer Camp were wonderful as always.

Django Django and Grimes were ridiculously busy, also annoyed by some people that work their way to the front of a stage only to talk and yell, let the people who enjoy the music be in the front. Having said that, Mazzy Star, Sleigh Bells and Chairlift gave amazing sets, wonderful bands. Too bad I couldn't catch R. Stevie Moore and Errors anymore due to a massive queue to get in, would have love to see them as well.

There's a single page printable timetable for Field Day London available here - http://gigleaf.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/field-day-2012.html Check the bands and stage times for any clashes. Franz Ferdinand v Mazzy Star? Beirut v Toy? Grimes v Spector? Djangos v Liars? Savages v Citizens? The choice is yours...
