Real-Time Updating!

I really like the fact that "Top Artists" and "Top Tracks" update in real-time now! I requested this for so long, instead of having to wait until Sunday for them to update every week. Excellent new feature! It's cool that the new features were finally rolled out and that subscribers got to do the beta test for this the last few months. It took awhile to get used to, but I'm liking it. The things I'd like are minor and cosmetic like having my library be on top of my most recent tracks, but that's no big deal. Great to see where last.fm is going. Thanks for being a diversion to prevent me from "working".

it seems as though this issue has split the users pretty evenly. many loved having the once a week charts. i'm not sure where i stand

I like that the top artists are real-time updated, however, the days you had to wait for the update got less and less lately. I didn't mind the wait, and I would give this new feature up to have lots of the things that have gone with the new design back.
Seeing your weekly top artists was something I loved very much too, I'm one of these statsgeeks that would love to switch on the pc on mondaymorning just to see them. Eventhought that makes no sense:)

I know what you mean about the weekly charts, and a friend of mine pointed out that those still update every Sunday, so the apps on my Facebook page won't update until those do, even though the current stats are on my last.fm page. I just like listening to a band and looking at the chart to see them move up in real-time after each track.

I also like being able to choose which charts display by default (overall, last 7 days, etc.) and that you can choose how many artists to show.

Haha, that makes sense. I would log into my Facebook account, click my last.fm charts widget, click "update" and see who mine were before I logged into last.fm! The suspense is gone! Dammit all!

I like this too!

And you can have the weekly charts - click on charts and then switch to "weekly snapshots"

Would be nice to have option to display the weekly snapshot on the main profile page though.

As many are saying, some of the new features are really good. Just need to make it more intuitive and customisable (moving boxes around / shrinking them) on profile page and perhaps a bit nicer looking with less wasted white space.

I really like this feature too. Weekly updating charts were a nice novelty, but for Last.fm to have kept them, they would have been living in the past - there's no need to.

they have kept them! you just need to go onto your own charts page to see them.

i find them relatively interesting in that i can sometimes figure out what was going on in a particular week or how i was feeling from the artists that feature highly.

but the instant updating is awesome.
