Would be more fun if they were in Georgia. Then it'd be news.

But all of them to a man, know first and foremost,
one of the most vital necessities in this life.
They know how to throw a party!
    Scatter!

    they're bombarding Tbilisi.

    The article doesn't say that?

Anyway, I don't see why Georgia should have any right to control South Ossetia and Abkhazia if the Abkhaz and South Ossetes don't want to be Georgians.

According to Russian officials, about 2000 people already killed as a result of Georgian attack on Ossetia. In three days, 34000 Ossetians crossed Russian border seeking refuge from the Georgian troops. Situation is just terrible, and this madness keeps going on.

Having great respect for both Georgian and Ossetian people (I have both Georgians and Ossetians between my friends), I believe the real enemy of the Georgian people is President Saakashvili who is apparently a dangerous lunatic starting this war. But this is quite typical for a politician, isn't it?

That sounds like propaganda to me. I don't think you should trust the media of any country involved in the conflict.

Based on information supplied by both sides, the UN refugee agency believes that about 2,400 people have fled South Ossetia to other parts of Georgia while between 4,000 and 5,000 have crossed the border into Russia.

Cosssack = CIA psy-op trying to convince you that: Georgians = CIA agent Saakashvili

Poster "Cosssack" = CIA psy-op trying to convince you that:
"Georgians = Saakashvili", i.e. the CIA agent acting as president, after "the elections" farce from 2007. (1)

In fact Saakashvili is a desperado ruling only thanks to terror state basics.
The illuminati had him launching the attack to South Ossetia as last measure to keep him in power. (2)

    (2)
Battle of Georgia: why was South Ossetia attacked hours before Olympics opening

Tbilisi, Georgia ... one of only two cities (1) to have cheered the antichrist after the sheeple accepted the mark.

Where Illuminati agent Saakashvili could no longer control the terror state that had been upscaled to nazi levels after the 2007 "elections" farce.
So the desperate illuminati were forced to launch the assault to South Ossetia before the fall of their agent. The battle of Georgia, one of the key battles of Armageddon. (2)
Yet they still had enough time to pick up the right symbolical date (3) to murder thousands of civilians in South Ossetia.

Well, of course you should be sceptical of everything, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't avoid FOX News for information on Iraq and Afghanistan or Правда for information on Chechnya and South Ossetia – some news sources are clearly less trustworthy on certain issues than others.

You're right, but it's not the statistics that really matters here.

Every death is a tragedy. And It's always a shame when people allow sneaky politicians to drive them into wars, be it war for Grail, war for oil, war for territories or even war for independence.

BTW, Правда is not the official media in Russia anymore ;). Now it's published by Zuganov's CPRF and expresses quite confusing pseudo-communist views of its leader ;)

I don't trust the BBC at all after their appalling coverage of the war in Lebanon. Nasrallah announced quite clearly in advance that every step he took would be a specific retailiation to further Israeli actions and escalations but it wasn't remotely presented like this.

To be honest everyone saw this coming after Kosovo was given its independence in the way it was, it pretty much set a precedent and laid the groundwork for conflicts like this to begin anew (and Georgia was obviously going to be the first).

yeah and I definitely wouldn't turn to FOX.

if you're looking for trustworthy reporting go look at Reuters- they're probably the best source for news (not opinion) you're going to get

    Probably not on purpose, though?

Georgian officials say Russian forces have been targeting administrative buildings. The television center is located 200 meters (yards) from Gori's central administrative building.

    http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2008/08/12/news/Georgia-Journalist-Killed.php

So it's probably not like when the US bombed Al Jazeera's offices in Kabul & Baghdad.

nation states are only a relatively recent thing compared to historic territorial claims, war happens a lot cause of it =/

it's hard when the people have never agreed on what the state they live in should be like, like in iraq which didn't exist a century ago until the west drew its current borders

    Two Morons: Bush and Saakashvili

    By PAUL CRAIG ROBERTS

The neoconned Bush Regime and the Israeli-occupied American media are heading the innocent world toward nuclear war.

Back in the Reagan years the National Endowment for Democracy was created as a cold war tool. Today the NED is a neocon-controlled agent for US world hegemony. Its main function is to pour US money and election-rigging into former constituent parts of the Soviet Union in order to ring Russia with American puppet states.

The neoconservative Bush Regime used the NED to intervene in Ukrainian and Georgian internal affairs in keeping with the neoconservative plan to establish US-friendly and Russia-hostile political regimes in these two former constituent parts of Russia and the Soviet Union.

The NED was also used to dismember the former Yugoslavia with its interventions in Slovakia, Serbia, and Montenegro.

Allen Weinstein, who helped draft the legislation establishing NED, told the Washington Post in 1991 that much of what the NED does “today was done covertly 25 years ago by the CIA.”

The Bush Regime, having established a puppet, Mikhail Saakashvili, as president of Georgia, tried to bring Georgia into NATO.

Well, there's certainly nothing in that article which sounds like a crazy unsubstantiated conspiracy theory (and the rest of the site is just as believable as it!).

(note: I'm aware there are bits of truth in there, they just happen to be mixed in with a lot of bizarre rambling)
