Same problem here, my iPod does not show up as a known iPod.

    1) What type of iPod you have, it's version, the version of its firmware if you can find it.
    2) What version of iTunes you're using
    3) What operating system you're on.
    4) If you're on Windows, the iTunes plugin version (Open the client and go to Help > About)
    -------------------------------------------
    1) iPod nano, 2nd generation, 1.1.3
    2) 7.6.2.9
    3) Windows XP service pack 2
    4) 1.5.0.24910

Fortunately it still works with the previous version. (1.4.2.59470)

So, I think it'd be very helpful if someone could upload one of the older versions? Cuz I don't know if I can do the rollback as I'm not sure if I've installed or updated anything since then that I can't currently miss..

I had the problem of it not scrobbling a couple of days ago, where it only picked up 3 of the songs I listened to. I didn't think it was going to work today, but it did. Not right away like usual though, a minute or so after the sync and then the lastfm window appeared.

I think someone has already given a link but I just uploaded my file (version 1.4.2.59470): http://rapidshare.com/files/115988924/Last.fm-1.4.2.59470.rar.html

I hope it will work for you too.

For those of you where the client fails to detect your particular iPod, we have put out a new beta build with a workaround.

You can get it from here:
    http://www.last.fm/group/Audioscrobbler+Beta/forum/30705/_/411185

In this version, you can trigger the iPod scrobbling manually after you sync with iTunes by going to Help > Diagnostics, selecting the iPod Scrobbling tab and pressing the Scrobble iPod button.

Please let us know if this makes it possible for you to scrobble your iPods.

    Thanks.

Did you try the build I posted? The errors are actually expected for manual iPods. It should work anyway.

    Howdy,

The downgrading of Last.fm software fixed my 'lost' iPod issue and my iPod nano was found instantly after the completion of installing the older version on to my Vista. The link is mentioned in this thread.

    Thanks Last.fm support!

Looks like the beta worked for me.. thanks!

  • Beta worked for me. Installed it, played some tracks, let my Nano sync with iTunes and manually scrobbled it.

If you have a manual iPod it won't work the first time.

The is unavoidable unfortunately. As the first time we get initial playcounts, and the second time we can diff.

Another reason to use automatic syncing.

...my problem is back. It used to work for like 10 days, but the last 3 or 4 times it does not scrobble again.

Could there be an issue because i am using 2 different ipods right now?

    1) iPod Touch 1.1.4, 8Gb
    2) iTunes 7.6.2.9
    3) Windows XP SP2
    4) iTunes Plugin 3.0.0.13
    5) LastFM Version 1.5.0.24910

Well the LastFm say that iPod can be scrobbled now, but when iTunes starts the sync, he crashes, my iPod says that Sync is in progress, but lastFm just say "yexords is connected"
    =/

This is a error or he's is scrobbling(and this takes too much time)?

Well, my scrobbler updated today and now it doesn't scrobble my iPod. It used to work fine before today.
The iPod is in the list, but it does nothing. I've restarted everything that could be restarted but still nothing.
    Any clues?

    Hi Support,

Are you going to refrain of iTunes usage finally? I mean, I dont want to use that ugly & unfriendly soft but wanna scrobble my iPod with Last.fm client :)

Programs like Yamipod could do it by themselfs, but they are not so good unfortunately.

    Thanks,
    Maksim
