I'm religious person. I belive in God, Satan, Jesus and all that shit. You know why I do so? To annoy those who say "I are atheist! I need no religion! RELIGION IS IVUL". You probably wonder, "Oh, but why does he want to annoy them?". Well, the answer is simple. Because they're bunch of idiots. Yes sir, madam, whatever. I think that you are an idiot. You know why? Because I'm sick of hearing all those arguments the "atheists" can think of. Mostly they can't even think any new ones, so they just repeat some that they've heard somewhere and thought "hey! that's true! I can't wait to throw it into some catholic's face! this is gonna be soooo cool..." BAH! I'm sick and tired of those worthless lambs reapeting each other. It's kinda like talking with borg. Or religious zealots. Actually most people are the same. They can't think of any damn thing by themselves. And that's sad. You know why do I actually like religion? Because it gives you the reason to think. Like those 10 commandments. Don't steal, don't kill, etc. Most people use them as an exactly different kind of argument- they treat is as the law, rules and so on and so on. It's not this (at least in my opinion). In my opinion they're only to make you think "why shouldn't I kill?". And no, the answer isn't "BECAUSE YOU GO TO HELL IF YOU DO SO!", personally I understand this as pure and simple- "good guy doesn't kill". So a potential kid now realises who is and who isn't a good guy! Brilliant! I find it to be a great thing. Thanks to religion you learn how the world works. So, by the sheer magnificance of Church a young mind is shaped to fit into society. Ain't it good?

I read whole thread. Yeah, I have lot of free time. Most of the arguments presented by atheists were personal. "I don't belive in God" "There is no proof of God's existance" There was even one girl saying that there was some kind of research that found out there was no god. And, you know, I think they are right. 'Cept the first one all of those contradict to exactly what religion ISN'T. Beliving isn't about having proof that something exists. It's knowledge. Belief is sort of more a hope thing. You belive without any evidence. And sometimes against evidence. Why? Because you need this. According to that little nifty pyramid of needs (I don't really remember the name of author...) one of the most important ones is feeling of security. Religion gives you this. When you are part of some cult your need of security, belonging to bigger group is supplied. And that's a good thing! Bah, even being atheist you identify yourself with group of people who are similiar to you. So it's a really basic thing that you need to satisfy...

Another problem, especially in Catholicism, is the injustice and as some people called it "going into wrong direction". I need to admit, that there are many "wrong-doers" in Church. But on the other hand... why shoudln't there be so many of them there? Think about it. The Organisation we are talking about is center of attention. It's where most people find to supply their need of security and belonging to a group. Vulnereble people. They need hope and sense of being safe. Where else should they go? Of course, to church. And there will always be people who find the despair of others a sure way to fill their purses. Is it bad? Yes. Yes, it is. It's very bad, but also inevitable. There will always be people who think only about themselves. We can't do anything about it (well, maybe some serious gene changing when a baby is going to be born...?). But it's not whole Church! Just think about missionaries who bring so needed hope to the poor countries. They help people, bring joy to their life, give them some kind of meaning, help them with founds coming from richer countries. Can you say THIS is a bad thing? Because I certainly can't... We can't look at the activity of few men and based on this base their view on whole organization. There are always good and bad people everywhere. It's just that we notice evil more often. Sad but true.

Well, that'd be all. Sorry for this block of text, I hope some of more bored people will read it all. Anyway, I hope some people will answer me. SO I CAN MAKE ANOTHER BLOCK OF TEXT! AND ANOTHER! Atheist, I believe religion gets in the way of humans progressing, and it diversifies people instead of bringing them together, in my opinion religion overall has brought more war (The crusades, now the Arab nations see this gulf war as the crusades part 2 and as a "holy" war) then peace and I can't see how a all loving God would allow this.

However having said what I did I respect other peoples beliefs just as I want my beliefs respected, I'm not saying religion is evil just that the way its set up encourages homophobia, sexism, rascism and diversity, and in the world we live in now, with different sexualities, races and cultures all mixed its out of date.
