So, are you one of those people who absolutely hate having your music files mistagged? The artist has to be correct, the title the proper title, the track listed for the correct album, and all...

The term "tags" for this group is referring to the data on the music files on a person's hard drive. Those are the ones that better be fixed.

If you're concerned about what people are taggin items with the website's tagging system, go elsewhere.

Note: Due to massive levels of journal whoring by people, any journals submitted to the group that are clearly irrelevant will result in the submitter being kicked out. Multiple submissions of this type will result in banning. Don't be stupid, and don't be an attention whore, and you're all good.

Oh, I found another. The quality UK Garage outfit "Artful Dodger" have nearly 4 times the plays under "The Artful Dodger" which i'm pretty sure isn't their name.

My point being that I think the problem will continue as long as there are people mistagging, on accident or on purpose like some of the dicks who flame this group, so the auto-taggers of various programs will never quite know what is correct.

I see the "The" problem with many bands. "The" either gets added on or left out randomly. The Gathering and Sanctuary are two bands that also have that problem, removed and added. >:(

It's almost comical because he comes up on "similar artists" to the Prod :(" Can't you make a suggestion to auto-correct the tag in last.fm? I don't know if it works with artists but it works with track titles...

oh yeah, and also, i use CDex for ripping (I think it gets tag data from amazon, or db of ur choice), and failing that, use MediaMonkey to tag shizz.

What CAN we do about literally tens of thousands of The Prodigy's tracks being submitted as Prodigy? It's almost comical because he comes up on "similar artists" to the Prod :(

You could try Max. It's a good CD ripping program but it also has some nice tagging features. http://sbooth.org/Max/

Hey, friends, this group is a find!. Question: Who can recommend me a good tagging soft that works with mac. I normally use Itunes and it ID3 tagging option to correct everything. But now i'm looking for some kind of soft that let me do the thing without necesarly open itunes. Any good options out there for mac? Thank you in advance.
