    My 5 favorite Genesis albums:
    Nursery Cryme
    Selling England By The Pound
    Trespass
    Foxtrot
    A Trick of the Tail

They aren't in any specific order. It's impossible to put them in any order i think.

  • Definitely Duke. I consider it a gateway album because it contains pop songs they'd be known for, and it contains the progressive rock they did so well.

    Foxtrot

  • Best album

All albums with Gabriel are fantastic but if I have to chose I would say Nursery Cryme and Selling England by the Pound. Incredible albums that stands the
    test of time!

    Hello Paris in the springtime...

Seconds Out was the first Genesis album I ever bought, not even knowing at the time of purchase that it was a live album, and it remains one of my favorites 25 years later.

  • I can't choose between Foxtrot, Selling England by the Pound and A Trick of the Tail... :)

  • My top 5:

    1. The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway
    2. Selling England by the Pound
    3. Foxtrot
    4. Genesis
    5. Invisible Touch

At least at the moment. ;-)
Also, I own most, but not every album of them so far.

Seconds out... one the best live albums made ever. Amazing musical quality and at least as good as the studioalbums. The live experience and the audience are unique.

"The Lamb", a great conceptual album BUT Selling England By The Pound is awesome too.

  • It's been Trespass for two years now and I always fall back in love again, when I listen to it... so... it's Trespass I think ;)

But I do love the other Albums as well, of course.

  • Well, in full lenght I have only heard A Trick of the Tail, We Can't Dance, Invisible Touch, Abacab and Wind & Wuthering.
Definitely Wind & Wuthering of those.

Well, if you had a gun against my head i would say, yes The Lamb. And if i had to go even deeper and had to choose between, The Lamb, The Wall, Aqualung or The Yes Album, i still would say The Lamb.

    Easy one:

    Foxtrot

But I don't think that Genesis made any bad albums as long as Gabriel was the lead singer. I still find the Lamb a bit confusing but still unique in its own way.

Got to be either "Selling England By The Pound" or "Wind And Wuthering" - the best era for Genesis music is between 1972 and 1978.
