  • What do you think of Peter's solo carrer?

Just want to know what are you thinking about Peter Gabriel's solo carrer?

I like it, but some of his more experimental stuff only sinks in after the third hearing.

  • I love it! Simply love it.
I mean, Songs like Red Rain or Moribound the Burgermeister are soooo amazing.. I write crap I know.. but I can't find any philosophical Phrases facing this genius :)

  • You mean you attempt to write songs yourself, or are the descriptions you write bad?

  • I think he was talking about his description lol

  • Damn, I've been on a constant of more than 100 listens to Peter Gabriel every week over the last weeks. I need to cut down I guess. Though it's so good (and yay 1970-1975 box is soon out, that's probably going to cut away the budget I reserved for Left 4 Dead).

Peter Gabriel III (melt) has got to be one of my all-time favorite albums. I like it as a whole better than Selling England by the Pound (my fav Genesis album) although the highlights on SEbtP are better than the best songs on III.

  • 3 has Family Snapshot, which in my opinion is better than Firth of Fifth. But perhaps not better than The Cinema Show.

  • Personally, I prefer Firth of Fifth to the cinema show lol :P
Peter Gabriel 3 (Melt) has also one of my favorite peter's song : Games without frontiers! But I can't compare those two album together because they're too much differents and they're both great!

  • I'm one of the few people who likes The Cinema Show more than Firth of Fifth.
Apart from Family Snapshot and Games Without Frontiers, there's Biko, Intruder and I Don't Remember which makes instant classics. Us and Up are excellent albums too, Us being my favorite of his.

  • Yes I agree, Us is a really good album!! You can find three of my favortie tune on it : Come Talk To Me, Digging In The Dirt, Secret World

  • Personally, I prefer Blood of Eden and Washing of the Water to Digging in the Dirt. And those 4 songs pretty much sum up why I love that album.

Not any worse than Collins', I must say

  • Collins does have a few rather interesting tracks, Take Me Home sounds like something that could fit well on So or Us, and In the Air Tonight is a classic rocker. I just find that Peter Gabriel has 50 tracks of that level.

Oh, no comparison. Collins has some good songs, Face Value was a good album, a lot of Hello, I Must Be Going was bearable. However, nothing can make up for the utter atrocity upon my hearing that was No Jacket Required >_> I thought it couldn't get any worse after hearing Invisible Touch... I was wrong -_-

I don't much like Gabriel's second album, but he has some amazing songs elsewhere. So must be one of the best albums of all time, and his first album is pure eclectic genius. Games without Frontiers, Mercy Street, Here Comes the Flood (all versions), Solsbury Hill, I Don't Remember, Don't Give Up... really, the titles just don't seem to end.

For the record, I like Firth of Fifth more than any other Genesis song, including The Cinema Show :P
