W4n73d just got pwned xD but talking serious, they won the MTV VMA Japan for the Best Rock Band =P i think they deserve it and beaten bands like 9mm Parabellum Bullet, ACIDMAN, Franz Ferdinand and Fall Out Boy. i'm glad that they beaten the (japanese) "softer" bands although i like them though. So congratulations for them.

Yeah, it's a logo, just like the single's title (爪爪爪, "Tsume Tsume Tsume"). The correct name IS マキシマム ザ ホルモン and this is obvious. Look on their official site. And as I said before (some messages ago), the band even commented about their change from romaji to katakana and the reasons to do so. It's 100% official.

Since the other shoutbox has been conquered by Russians (and for some reason that's where I landed last time, though my tags say マキシマムザホルモン), I just ask again here: Does anyone have a goddamn shirt they would like to sell? :D Would be much appreciated. I could have bought one when they played in Germany, but I sort of didn't expect them to be sold out so unbelievably fast there. Wanted to get one after the concert and they were all gone. So, anyone wanting to sell a shirt? :D

Also confirming what the person below me said -- writing something in katakana can be likened to typing something in bold. The switch represented a "coming into the light" for them so to speak.

@Sakurairo: I know it sounds weird for non-japanese people, but katakana DOES have an special meaning to them. The band used to be called "Maximum the Hormone" before, just like that. But then they became "マキシマム ザ ホルモン" and their sound is really different from those times, since they've changed it. Well, THAT is why they did... it shows the band went through changes. Plus, depending on the context, writing something in katakana can really change the meaning a lot! Yeah, it IS kinda weird, but that's how japanese people use it. :)
