After a year of no journals or updates here's a short entry marking my 80,000 track scrobbled on last.fm.
Holy crap! 80,000 tracks! That's kinda scary...
Interestingly, (or perhaps not) my tastes in music, and the way I listen to music hasn't changed so much since my previous journal entries: I still listen to *everything* as opposed to listening to a lot of a few artists. At the time of writing my top artist (ムック) has a total of 0.78% (yes, still well under 1%) of my total tracks. That's not a whole lot of tracks by any one artist or band, but it's a whole lot of music.
So track no.80,000 was Good day, celebration by LOVE PSYCHEDELICO. This is a band I've been aware of for a fair amount of time, but only really come to love and appreciate in the last six months or so. Their music's a wonderful mix of melody and rythym, very americanised, I guess, but no worse for that. This is definitely cheerful, upbeat music to move your feet to.
I was kinda tempted to try and get Kagrra, as the artist for no.80,000, as I've been listening to their music a lot recently, too. Their recent albums have been really impressive. For a band of such pretty boys, obviously taking such great pains over their appearance, their music is quite phenomenally good. I guess I am just very sceptical when I see "pretty" musicians, about whether their music is really any good or whether they are simply popular because they look good.
Let's hope nothing gets in the way of track no.100,000, eh?
