about the white middle class thing, congratulations...born + razed. thankyou for writing me off based on the way i speak. i can't escape the mark of the culture that brought me up. but i can think of nobody less likely to understand what i am trying to express than the white middle class. who would know better than me? forgive me if that's pretentious, or am i allowed to speak? that culture treated me like shit, left me for dead, + as soon as i left my coffin every step i took the cops let me know i wasn't welcome anymore. i've found awareness doesn't depend on black&white or class, but more how much somebody has suffered and healed. 1905 has a lot of love in their pain, that is why they are so important to me. i can tell you've suffered a bit, the healing part i'm less sure of. but words on a screen is a shitty way to let somebody understand and, uh oh, it's veering off topic. the censors will soon realize discussion is taking place.

no, no, no... it has to do with what you can relate to/understand/empathize with in the music. amongst varg's beliefs is white supremacy...i don't think burzum is white supremacy incarnate (although i think some people who aren't 'racist' can relate to a similar kind of hatred...most of us are bigots, yourself definitely not excluded. that said, i think burzum and most everything that is expressing something true to itself is worth something, whether i agree with it or not...that makes me different enough from a lot of people to comment on them. in my opinion you're more guilty of what you're accusing me of than i am, but then that's where the pre-tension comes in?). it's not about ideology necessarily, it's about what they are expressing. i tried to explain this...you've seen what you wanted to see in my words, which could mean whatever to whoever reads them. i don't think 1905 fails musically, i think there's something you don't like in the music. that's what i was trying to say.

also, you should probably think for at least 5 seconds before you try to sound smart. how is it possible that i can listen to burzum and have black friends, or religious friends, or like hiphop? afterall, amongst varg's beliefs is white supremacy. how is it possible that i think 36 chambers is a great album despite not being a 5-pecenter? how is it possible that i like death metal since the lyrics don't even attach to any belief at all? how is it that i can enjoy instrumental music that doesn't reflect an ideology? how is it that i can enjoy red house painters when i haven't grown up in a dready violent midwest town? i could go on. i think you realise how fucking stupid you are. and really, if you read this and still believe you only like music you agree with, then i fucking pity you - you're far more restricted and close-minded than any of those 'mainstream' radio fans.

if you don't believe in/care about what 1905 is singing about you're not gonna like it (heartless), because their music is their belief incarnate. + that's what i look for in music and that's also why most people in the mainstream think anything that's not on the radio is terrible, why most white people are unable to listen to any rap music that doesn't represent black people and this society exactly how they want to see it, and it's why most people who find an underground genre listen to nothing but that genre, they have no means to understand what's being expressed outside of it or anything outside their own experience + issues. music sounds bad when you don't believe in it. yeah, i'm emo at heart, but that's why the mainstream genre "emo" always sounded like shit to me. i don't doubt you may have trouble understanding what i'm telling you now + find a way to classify me so you won't have to deal with what i'm trying to express. whatever.

1905 means anarcho punk to me, but musically i hear a lot of things. never really listened to 'screamo' apart from a few anarcho bands that got labeled as that. nowadays punk doesn't even make up that much of what i listen to. i still come back to 1905 often...from experimental music (not talking about 'indie-rock'), classical music, metal, hip-hop, harsh noise, anything that has soul and rhythm aka speaks music... 1905's music still makes a lot of sense to me. most rock music is crap to me, so your rant about 'real screamo' is a little bit off. maybe only a little bit though...

caughtonthewire you have it the wrong way round. you have to be stuck in genre to like 1905. they're one of those god-awful bands people only like in their 'real screamo' phase. even most 'real screamo' phase kids can't bring themselves to like this band. fucking awful.
