Dom 4 Giu – Gods Of Metal

E infatti – sorpresa!

    —Goodnight Demon Slayer

    5. Have you ever seen 22 live? 311

    1 Tem 2009, 23:57 yazan BleedingTree

I fell asleep with my iPod on at about 3 O'clock 6/30, woke up with my randomize only on track 23. I thought nothing of it! Until I decide... "Hey, I'll go for a 2 hour walk." So after I had already started my walk, the songs won't play. The iPod will be on play but the songs will remain at 0:00 time. So, I reset my iPod today on the first, and readded songs. Still doesn't work. Time to replace it, it seems! R.I.P.

  • Survey for top 50 played in Last.fm

    1 Tem 2009, 16:08 yazan NWG369

    1. What's your favorite song by 14?
Foo Fighters: I'd have to say ÇalTimes Like These

    2. How did you get into 20?
Everclear: Honestly, I hadn't listened to them since I was a young kid in the 90s, and I heard one of their songs one day (ÇalSanta Monica) and it instantly brought back a lot of nostalgia and now I'm hooked.

    3. Who is your favorite member in 8?
Opeth: Definitely Mikael Akerfeldt, the mastermind behind the whole band. He's the primary songwriter, lead guitarist, and the vocalist for one of, if not THE greatest bands around today.

    4. Whats your favorite lyric bit by 29?
Deep Purple: Pretty much the entire lyrics to "ÇalChild in Time".

    5. Have you ever seen 22 live?
I actually have four number 22s (Soundgarden, Pantera, Aerosmith, Smile Empty Soul) and have never seen any of them live.

    6. What's your favorite album from 10?
Third Eye Blind: Definitely their self titled album (Third Eye Blind, obviously)

    7. Do you own any merchandise from 3?
Nirvana: Well I used to own a T-shirt with a picture of the band on the front a few years back, but I'm not sure if I have it any more.

    8. What is a good memory you have of 7?
Megadeth: Probably the fact that I found their double-disc greatest hits CD at Walmart for like $8 somehow, and bought it as my first taste into their stuff. Or maybe the first time I heard ÇalHoly Wars...The Punishment Due. Up until then, I thought Megadethwere kind of mediocre. Now I know better.

    9. Is there a member of the same age as you in 2?
Queens of the Stone Age: Not that I know of. 17 IS pretty young to be in a great band, especially one that's 10 years old.

    10. When did you first get into 1?
Metallica: Well I'd been listening to them on the radio since the 90s and I knew songs like Nothing Else Matters and Enter Sandman, but when I first heard The Unforgiven on the radio, probably when I was 13, I went out and bought their self titled album and enjoyed it a lot, but never delved any deeper. Until I was about 15, that is. I bought Master of Puppets for the hell of it (and I was NOT a metal fan at this stage in my life) and, after a few listens, was awestruck with how brilliant it was. The rest is history.

    11. Who likes 4 along with you?
Led Zeppelin: Well I know a lot of people who say they like them, but nobody where I live really listens to any decent music. They've all heard of Stairway to Heaven, but few have actually listened to it and I doubt anyone knows any of their other stuff, which is sad.

    12. Which song did you first hear from 15?
KISS: Probably ÇalRock and Roll All Nite, but it's not my favorite by any means.
The Cars: Just What I Needed and You're All I've Got Tonight, but their entire debut album is perfect.

    13. What song made you fall in love with 5?
Staind: Basically that they were the only non-shitty nu-metal band I had heard. I barely listen to them any more, but when I was 13 they were my favorite. They're still good by today's mainstream music's standards, though.

    14. Which song do you not like by 18?
Sepultura: Damn, I don't really know enough of their stuff to pick a song I don't like. Probably anything off of any of their albums since Max left.

    15. Why do you like 14's songs?
Foo Fighters: Because they're all well written and catchy, I guess. Plus they're not too hard and not too soft, a nice change from what I normally listen to these days.

    16. Where did you first hear 6?
Alice in Chains: Oh, the radio I'm sure. ÇalMan in the Box got me into them, and I've been hooked on all of their stuff to this very day.

    17. How long was 19 a singer before you liked them?
Everclear: I think I'd call them a band, not a singer, but I'd say probably 5 or 6 years.

    18. Does 13 have a song that gives you a bad memory?
Stone Temple Pilots: No way, only good things can come from STP's music.

    19. When did you get into 17?
Jet: When I got the advanced promotional copy of their debut album months before it was released or anybody had ever heard of them. They're not too great today, but their debut was pure rock and roll and I love it.

    20. How long have you been into 11?
AC/DC: Shit, I've pretty much been listening to them my entire life, but I didn't start "getting into them" until I was like 10 maybe.

    21. If 9 had a concert 300 miles away, would you drive there to see them?
I actually don't have a 9, but I have two 8s so I'll just use the second one...Black Sabbath: Probably not, because they're still around and touring anyways (I think) so I'd wait until they're a little closer.

    22. How many CDs do you own of 12?
Danzig: None, honestly. But I own a shit load of their songs individually.

    23. Does 21 have a song that makes you cry?
I don't have a 21, but I'll use 22...Soundgarden: Nope, they don't really write emotional songs and I don't cry about songs anyways.

    24. Does 27 have a song that makes you happy?
Lynyrd Skynyrd: Oddly enough, ÇalThat Smell makes me happy because it's so true. So does Tuesday's Gone and ÇalFree Bird, because they're beautiful.

    25. Does 23 have a song that makes you smile?
No 23, but I'll use my last 22...Smile Empty Soul. Not really, all of their stuff has that "teenage angst" mentality to it, so it's mostly all whiny and complaining. I've always hated the fact that I like this band, but damn it I just enjoy their music for some reason, despite hating the genre and their message.

    26. What's the last song you've listened to from 28?
No 28, but I'll use my second 27...One Day as a Lion, and the last song I've listened to by them is Wild International.

    27. Is there a song by 32 that you've listened to more than 30 times?
    No.

    28. What is a song from 50 that you've only listened to once?
    Exodus: The Toxic Waltz

    29. Is there a song you are sick of hearing by 24?
    No, because I don't have a 24.

    30. What song got you into 40?
Masters of Reality: Definitely the live version of ÇalThe Blue Garden. It's incredible.

    31. What is your favorite single by 25?
    Probot: Probably Red War.

    32. If 49 hated you, what would you do?
The Doors: Nothing, seeing as they don't exist any more. At least not in the way I'd like them to.

    33. What would you say if 42 or one of the members from 42 asked you out?
Pearl Jam/Rush: I'd probably turn them down as I'm not a homo.

    34. Would you care if 41 had a boyfriend/girlfriend?
Disturbed(whom I really don't listen to any more): No, not at all.

    35. Who has the best voice in 46?
Children of Bodom: Probably Alexi Laiho, the vocalist...

    36. Do you think 26 is/are good looking?
Probot: Dave Grohl? Sure, I guess.

    37. How many times have you listened to your favorite song by 36?
The Beatles: Probably like 3 times, considering they have way too many great songs for me to listen to.

    38. How many CDs do you own of 30?
    Zero, because I don't have a 30.

    39. Is there a song from 38 that makes you mad?
    Red Hot Chili Peppers: Nope.

    40. Which member from 31 do you want to see go solo? If 31 is only one artist, what would you do if they joined a group?
Pink Floyd: Doesn't make a difference to me.

    41. What does your favorite song from 48 remind you of?
The White Stripes: Seven Nation Army reminds me of....a really big army?

    42. Did you hate 43 at first?
Billy Squier: Oh hell no, he's one of my favorites and always has been.

    43. Does your best friend also listen to 33?
I have six 33s (wow!) and my best friend listens to none of them.

    44. Do you think your parents would like 37?
    I don't have one, but 36 I know they like...The Beatles.

    45. Does 47 have a song that makes you want to dance?
The Who: Not really, but maybe ÇalMy Generation?

    46. Have you ever seen 34 in person?
    Van Halen: I wish.

    47. Do you like 44's name?
The Rolling Stones: It's kinda plain, but it's cool.

    48. Is there someone in 45 that you want to go out with?
I don't have one, but 46 Children of Bodom....definitely not.

    49. Do you know anyone that hates 39?
Steely Dan: No, and how could they?

    50. Have you ever danced to a song from 35?
    Seether: No, not quite.

And a defiant blow to my maintainment that it would suck donkey balls...

    aliceinchains.com

While Duvall does have a really good voice, I'm still bothered that they're using the Alice in Chains name without Layne. Regardless though, this song is solid and feels a lot more metal than most AIC. I'd give it a 9/10.

  • Guess the song for the lyrics. :D

    29 Haz 2009, 17:08 yazan CasieCancer

This looked fun so, yeah. Let's go. :D

    The process/rules
1; Put your MP3 player or whatever on shuffle.
2; Post the first line from the first 50 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song (I'm skipping foreign languages and ones I can't understand.)
3; Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from. (They must post Artist & Song, spelling doesn't matter, and taking a guess is always welcomed.)
4; Strikethrough the lyrics when someone guesses correctly and put the song and artist under the corresponding lyrics.
5; Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is CHEATING!
