Shiva in Exile зовет нас в путешествие по волнам гипнотизирующего звука, в котором мелодии и ритмы самых древних восточных культур человечества гармонично соединены с такими стилями современной музыки, как ambient, ethnic, newage… Музыка очень похожа на творчество Dead Can Dance, Rajna, Vas, Ataraxia.

Дебютный альбом «Ethnic» проекта Shiva in Exile включает в себя 14 темных ambient/ethno песен. Создатель проекта Stefan Hertrich использовал атмосферную электронику, ударные инструменты, различные звуковые эффекты, мужской/женский вокалы со всего мира, включая барабаны непальского шамана, записанные немецким автором Кристианом Ратшем, который живет в лесу уже многие годы и регулярно посещает экзотические страны. Вы можете услышать арабские, индийские, малазийские, тайские, народные канадские мотивы, окруженные темной и меланхоличной атмосферой.

Вторая работа этно-проекта Shiva in Exile — «Nour» (2008), что в переводе с арабского означает «свет». Это 13 треков продолжительностью 70 минут. Музыка альбома более ориентирована на готическую сцену, нежели музыка дебютного альбома, в нем присутствуют элементы стиля darkwave. В одной из песен использована поэма девушки из Ливана, которую она написала в прошлом году во время войны с Израилем, а также тексты на русском языке. В музыке можно будет услышать реальные сэмплы боевых действий. Вокал для альбома записала вокалистка российской группы Theodor Bastard Яна Вева. Руководитель проекта Stefan Hertrich ранее сотрудничал с ней при записи дебютного альбома «Pulse» проекта Spiritual. Также планируется снять на один из треков видеоклип, который стилистически будет продолжать линию клипа Spiritual «Pulse».

Nothing to say about their music because it's sublime, but Tuomas really seems like a diva to me, all "oh look at me I'm so heavy metal and so important and my keyboards playing is so divine, and I'm not really that talkative because I wanna look modest and mysterious when in fact I'm not that modest nor that mysterious".

2) Qntal
Great! They shoud do something more medieval though.

3) Mediæval Bæbes
They keep losing members! They reduced from 12 to 6 in the last years... It would be nice if they didn't come and go all the time.

4) Enya
Such a lovely lady, but could she work any slower?? She's one of my personal goddesses though.

5) Ataraxia
Francesca's English pronunciation is horrible and they shoud do more songs in Italian.

6) Loreena McKennitt
Mmm, I really would't know what to say about her. The only bad thing is that she hadn't released anthing in 9 years between The Book of Secrets and An Ancient Muse.

7) Inkubus Sukkubus
Ok guys, we got that, you're so pagan and everything, but would you mind writing songs with lyrics that doesn't seem written by some random Wiccan wannabe?
Plus, they should be more experimental with their music.

8) Arcana
Sometimes they sound too Dead Can Dance-y.

9) Nox Arcana
They're really talented, so why not trying something more different for the next record?

10) The Soil Bleeds Black
Their records should be more polished. I know, they're supposed to sound authentically medieval... but still.

11) Tarot
Maybe a bit generic. Marco is God nonetheless.

12) Dead Can Dance
What could I possibly say about that... Maybe Lisa Gerrard should have more space.

13) Of the Wand and the Moon
The last album was not as good as previous works. By the way, new material please!

14) Sopor Aeternus & The Ensemble of Shadows
Yes, ok, you're so depressed, you wanna become a woman and you wanna die and you make your music for yourself, so why have your releases become so fucking marketable? I mean, black condoms? Love gloves? I don't think she's so depressed after all.

15) Leaves' Eyes
I want the electric guitar to be more prominent.

16) Within Temptation
Love Sharon's voice, but they sound really cliche sometimes.

17) Sarah McLachlan
She's clearly lacking any ispiration since Surfacing. Everything she released after that was merely a filler, except for Afterglow, which wasn't even that good.

18) Tarja
Her Christmas album was totally uninspired. My Winter Storm is great, but she shoud have sticked more to classical music instead of rock.

19) The Birthday Massacre
Great, but I would like more diversity.

20) Tristania
More female vocals and less growls, please. And about Vibeke: she didn't seem that great to me, but maybe it's because she was never fully given the opportunity to shine. I can't wait to hear something with Mariangela.
