Thu 31 Dec – Stellar Spark 7 Ft. Benny Benassi


Really, I mean it. Benny Benassi came on and it was just awesome. However, the performance before him, DJ Funk, was HORRIBLE, and I don't use that term lightly. All he played was other people's music, and what he did mix, I could have done better. In fact, ANYONE could have done better. Not only was the guy and his entourage awful, they were just plain inconsiderate and rude. The plan (or what I have learned) would have been to have Benny come on, BEFORE midnight, start his set, and then have the New Years Eve countdown, confetti cannons and all, but that didn't happen. Instead, DJ Funk stayed on the stage PAST midnight, toasting with his buddies and crew, and what it looked like from my perspective was the promoter or manager had to come on the stage more than a few times to tell him to get off. That is completely outrageous.

I honestly feel bad for Benny for putting up with that crap. He's in the DJ Top 100, plays across the world, and then has to deal with Milwaukee. I forgot to mention how this was an all ages show. Going into it, I thought it was a 17+ show, and don't know where I missed that underage part. Oh my, let me tell you about the 13 year skanks running around smoking, drinking, and high out of their minds. This is where I would inset a "Do you know where your child is?" ad. I understand the venue wants to sell tickets, but come on, that was just completely inappropriate. Oh well, If he comes back to Wisconsin, I'll consider it, but until then I'll stick to my Chicago crowd, thanks.

When Benny came on, (I think it was 12:10am or so by now) finally his turn, the countdown was integrated into his set and everyone just went with it. Benassi knows how to put on an awesome set. Of course he had to fit in a little Satisfaction, which is always good. I was still excited to hear him put on My Otherside which he also played at Congress Theater when I was there in June with Paul van Dyk. I think what "made" the show at The Rave for me, was when he played his remix of I Will Be Here, which is a Tiesto/Sneaky Sound System track. The thought of him playing it had never even crossed my mind, so I was pumped as soon as I head the into. It only took me a second to place it before I freaked out.

All in all, BENNY was a great show. That other guy? Not so much.

Słyszeliście o tym aby bugi (błędy) mogły inspirować ? Owszem, mogą (informatyków szczególnie ) ;) Z okazji dziwacznego błędu, który dziś zagościł na moim profilu - zresetowania się licznika odsłuchań (ponoć naprawia się automatycznie po 24h, zobaczymy) - pomyślałem, że napiszę o mojej przygodzie z muzyką, pewnym Tworem, który pozwolił mi okiełznać chaos oraz co zyskałem stając się członkiem niezwykłej społeczności. Wszak już od jakiegoś czasu owa społeczność stała się częścią mojego życia, aczkolwiek można by rzec, że jestem raczej jej cichym obserwatorem. No ale... przejdźmy do meritum.
Będzie pewno wiało nudą, znajdzie się też nieco specyficznego filozofowania Tomasza, ale będzie też śmiesznie, mroczno "i w ogóle" fajnie będzie, także zapraszam :P

Część I – The Beginning (Lata '90, chaos)
Nigdy nie byłem wielkim znawcą sceny muzycznej (aczkolwiek aktualnie staram się to zmienić). Nie wchodziłem w historię kapel, ich skład, w ogóle nie śledziłem ich poczynań. Problem nie tkwił w tym, że mnie to nie interesowało. Byłem młody, „chłonąłem” wszystko wokół, więc pewno by mnie zainteresowało, niestety warunki w „tamtych” czasach niezbyt pozwalały na zgłębianie tej wiedzy. Wieś, pomijam brak Internetu, który w Polsce stawiał dopiero pierwsze kroki (w ogóle to nie ten wiek!), jeden czarno-biały TV na kilku domowników, mentalność rodziców, którzy ciągle albo na roli albo przy domu coś grzebali. Kieszonkowe na jakieś publikacje ? Przez parę dobrych lat każdy grosz okładałem, oszczędzając na... komputer ;) Istny wiejski Alcatraz. I jak tu rozwijać swoje gusta muzyczne ?
A jednak, byli bracia, którzy mieli dobry sprzęt grający, sporą kolekcję taśm MC (pamiętacie jeszcze co to ? :D), małą kolekcję płyt kompaktowych i to nie byle co: mogłem poznać piękno muzyki celtyckiej dzięki płytce The Voyager, Mike Oldfield'a, magię syntezatorów i muzyki elektronicznej czyli Marek Biliński ze swoim E≠mc², oczywiście nie mogło się obejść bez Equinoxe Jean-Michel Jarre'a. Mogłem także poczuć nieco muzyki progresywnej mianowicie The Division Bell, Pink Floydów, ale byłem jeszcze chyba zbyt młody, aby ona do mnie wtedy dotarła. Był niezwykły Vangelis z albumami Antarctica, Chariots Of Fire oczywiście genialna ścieżka dźwiękowa do Blade Runnera. Pamiętam jak dziś album Essential kapeli Yello, który mógłby być (o ile nie był) niezłym soundtrackiem do jakiegoś filmu gangsterskiego z lat 80-tych, muszę tutaj wspomnieć o kawałku (nota bene, z w/w płyty) Oh Yeah, którego ironiczny klimat można było odczuć w znanym Jingle Bells. Z jakiegoś powodu z Yello zawsze kojarzył mi się Scatman John (jak się później okazało, nie miał z nimi nic wspólnego), gość, który pokazał, że można wykorzystać własne niedoskonałości w perfekcyjny sposób. Dał mi wówczas sporo do myślenia. Pamiętacie fajną bajkę z '84 Niekończąca się opowieść oraz ścieżkę dźwiękową? Nie raz jeszcze można usłyszeć w radio znany kawałek Never Ending Story artysty Limahl. Oczywiście było też trochę Queensów, ABBA, obecnie mniej znane Ultravox, Alphaville (Forever Young, Big In Japan znany bardziej w wykonaniu Guano Apes), Marillion z genialnym kawałkiem Kayleigh, chyba bardziej znany Starship z We Built This City (który swoją drogą niedawno w radio słyszałem) oraz wiele innych, których nazw już nie pamiętam.
W końcu dostałem własny „sprzęt grający” - radio oraz odtwarzaczem taśm magnetofonowych. Długo się nim nie nacieszyłem, został mi on „skonfiskowany” i do dziś służy mamie jako wypełnienie ciszy w kuchni :)
Niemniej, plotka o tym, że Tomasz posiadał coś grającego doszła aż do Świętego Mikołaja i w zamian za to, że byłem grzeczny dostałem parę kaset MC, niestety... Święty okazał się mieć kiepski gust. Większość z nich chyba nigdy nie przesłuchałem do końca. No ale, znalazła się też jedna kaseta, która mnie zaintrygowała, oczywiście w porównaniu z tym co wyżej wymieniłem nie było to nic ambitnego, niejeden tutaj pewno mnie zaraz wyśmieje jak powiem, że chodzi o The Kelly Family, folk/pop. Jest to o tyle ciekawe i warte wspomnienia, że wcześniej tylko się delektowałem muzyką, tak jak pisałem wcześniej, nie interesowałem się innymi dziełami artystów, których wtedy już poznałem natomiast po parokrotnym przesłuchaniu Almost Heaven miałem ochotę na więcej, a jako że do kasety dołączona była książeczka z wydrukowaną chyba całą dyskografią TKF, wiedziałem, że mają coś jeszcze na swoim koncie. Później, gdzieś, u kogoś rozpoznałem okładkę innego albumu TKF, oczywiście musiałem pożyczyć.
Na antenie TVP2 pojawił się dosyć ciekawy program muzyczny – 30 ton, emitowana co tydzień lista przebojów w formie niepełnych teledysków na podstawie najbardziej sprzedających się albumów. Niestety mogłem oglądać tylko wtedy, gdy TV był wolny, a jak na złość nie był zbyt często. Niemniej to był dla mnie duży skok. Poznałem wiele kapel, głównie rockowych oraz popowych, ale nie tylko. Madonna z IMHO najlepszą jej płytką the ray of light, oraz genialnym utworem Frozen (do dziś pamiętam ten mroczny teledysk), Sting z po prostu rewelacyjnym kawałkiem Desert Rose (gdybym miał robić osobiste TOP30 z pewnością by tam wylądował), Robbie Williams, Céline Dion, nasze Elektryczne Gitary z niezłymi tekstami Kuby Sienkiewicza, ale także Metallica, z klasykiem Nothing Else Matters, aczkolwiek przez długi czas nie przemawiał do mnie trash. Muszę tutaj też koniecznie wspomnieć o polskim chyba mało znanym (aczkolwiek starsze pokolenie zapewne dobrze go kojarzy ) artyście, mam na myśli Stan Borysa, z kolejną perełką Jaskółka uwięziona. Innym utworem, który bardzo dobrze pamiętam był fajny kawałek Sky (Sonique). No można by wymieniać dłuugo.
W końcu dorobiłem się kompa, zacząłem kompletować perełki, swoją playlistę nazwałem jak na perełki przystało dosyć „słodko”, acz banalnie, mianowicie - mieszanka Wedla ;) Kupiłem swoją pierwszą płytę Europop, kapeli Eiffel 65 z samymi genialnymi utworami m.in. Too Much Heaven czy Living in a Bubble, no i oczywiście najbardziej znanym Blue.
Nadszedł rok 2000, dostałem się do liceum. Nastał tzw. okres młodzieńczego buntu, rozpoczęła się moja przygoda z cięższymi brzmieniami. Ale o tym w następnej części...

Część II – The Middle (Nowy wiek)
Szkoła średnia – bunt, „szatanista”, klątwa Eddyego T.H., pierwszy poważny koncert ;)

Nowa szkoła, nowe twarze, różne subkultury... zaczęło się od Łukasza („szatanista” jakby powiedziała niejedna babcia widząc gościa z czachą na koszulce) który zaraził mnie i jeszcze parę osób ostrą muzą.
Od razu rzuciłem się na głęboką wodę: słuchało się głównie Cradle of Filth oraz Dimmu Borgir, ale krótko... niezrozumiały growling i tematyka mnie nie przekonały, aczkolwiek Spiritual Black Dimensions jest całkiem przyjemnym albumem, a teledysk Progenies of the Great Apocalypse po prostu wymiata (myślę tutaj o wersji ocenzurowanej, z mniejszą ilością keczapu, itd.) :) Spróbowałem czegoś trochę bardziej lajtowego mianowicie Iron Maiden. Pożyczyłem od kumpla kilka płytek, były to bodaj The Number of the Beast, The Killers oraz No Prayer For The Dying. Pierwsze wrażenie ? Nie spodobało mi się, zasnąłem sobie słuchając The Killers. Budzę się godzinkę później, muza dalej gra iii ?! I stwierdzam, że jest po prostu zajebista. Zakochałem się w tym co ludzie zdefiniowali jako nwobhm (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal), czyżby Eddy (maskotka IM) miał coś z tym wspólnego ? :)
Zakupiłem sobie kilka koszulek oraz płytek Ironów, cudowny Brave New World, później Fear Of The Dark oraz The X Factor, w którym głosu udzielił Blaze Bayley na szczęście syn marnotrawny, (:D) Dickinson wrócił do sfory i do dziś nas zadziwia swoim talentem. Kupiłem także koncertówkę A Real Live Dead One, ale Rock in Rio nic nie pobije.
Ku memu wielkiemu zdziwieniu (nigdy tego nie puszczał) brat podsunął mi rewelacyjny album Abigail, King Diamond'a, artysty który ze swoimi oryginalnymi makijażami tworzy niezwykły klimat, ciężko mi sobie wyobrazić Diamonda bez makijażu, na jakimś metalowym evencie.
Po dwóch/trzech latach, jak mi włosy podrosły babcie pod kościołem zaczęły patrzeć krzywo na mnie – klasyk, stałem się oficjalnie buntownikiem, „szatanistą”, ateistą i w ogóle najgorszym bydłem. Zdziwiła by się większość z tych ludzi, jakby wiedzieli, że (jak większość „metali”) nie urywałem głowy kotom, nie brałem udziału w czarnych mszach, nie rysowałem pentagramów na każdym słupie. Oczywiście były rockoteki, chociaż nie były ostro zakrapiane, nie kręciło mnie to.
Rok 2003, razem z kolegą Damianem jedziemy na koncert Iron Maiden - Give me Ed.. 'til I'm Dead Tour '03 w Katowicach (Spodek). Będąc na płycie 30m od sceny słuchając i widząc do wyprawiają Dickinson z Harrisem oraz resztą bandy byłem w ciężkim szoku, do końca życia tego nie zapomnę (do dziś mam zachowany bilet). Na drugi dzień oczywiście nie umiałem wypowiedzieć ani słowa :)
Damian podsunął mi coś nowego Keeper Of The Seven Keys grupy Helloween, z głosem Kiske. Byłem w niebo wzięty. Szkoda, że chłopaki nie umieli się dogadać i Kiske opuścił Helloween. W tym okresie spotkałem się z zawodem miłosnym, więc z metalem symfonicznym (gotyckim), który działa(ł) na mnie kojąco miałem również do czynienia, kapele Nightwish oraz Within Temptation często mi towarzyszyły.
Tak naprawdę mimo krótkiego epizodu, nigdy nie uważałem się za „metalowca”. Często wracałem do starych, znanych perełek poznanych dzięki 30 tonom oraz (uwaga) Eurowizji, tak, dobrze wiem, że więcej w tym konkursie polityki aniżeli prawdziwej rywalizacji, niemniej czasami zdarzały się ciekawe pozycje takie jak kiczowate Lordi czy węgierski NOX z utworem Forogj Vilag. Na jednej z aukcji w mojej szkole, chyba na WOŚP wylicytowałem kasetę VHS Pink Floyd – Live at Pompei, chociaż znałem już Floydów nie wiedziałem czego się po niej spodziewać (w końcu eksperymentowali oni z dźwiękiem), więc wylicytowałem w ciemno. I wcale tego nie żałuję, zawartość kasety zaskoczyła mnie - pozytywnie ;)
W końcu dotarł do mnie Internet, dzięki któremu zaczęła mnie interesować kultura celtycka, poznałem magię muzyki jaką tworzyła Loreena McKennitt w The Book of Secrets oraz The Mask and Mirror, zresztą każdy jej album jest po prostu genialny. Polski Shannon ze swą niezwykłą interpretacją bretońskiej pieśni Tri Martolod również zrobił na mnie ogromne wrażenie. W tym czasie usłyszałem o grupie Carrantuohill nota bene, pochodzącej z sąsiedniego miasta. W moje ręce wpadła ich płytka Inis. Zespół zaprosił do współpracy wielu znanych polskich artystów (m.in. A.M. Jopek, A. Lipicka, P. Kukiz, S. Sojka) tworząc przepiękną opowieść o Irlandii. Kiedyś w rozmowie bratowa wspomniała o niejakim Michael Flatley'u, gość jest ponoć najszybszym steperem na świecie, zaintrygowało mnie to dosyć, pogrzebałem trochę i odnalazłem musical pt. Lord of The Dance, obiecałem sobie że kiedyś się na owy wybiorę (ponoć do dziś Riverdance występuje, dosyć niedawno byli w Polsce, niestety nie mogłem się wybrać). Nie bez kozery o tym wspominam, muzyka, którą usłyszałem powodowała ciarki na moich plecach, ten efekt pozostał do dziś. Coś cudownego, przez cały czas jak słuchasz i oglądasz to co się dzieje na scenie zapominasz o smutku, niepowodzeniu, czy doznanych przykrościach. Lepszej „terapii” na dobre samopoczucie po prostu nie ma.

Niemniej najlepsze było dopiero przede mną...

Część III – The End (Drugi start, dziś)
Studia – last but not least, pasja, progresja, Woodstock ;)

Matura zdana, hell yea. Nadszedł okres przez niektórych postrzegany jako najlepszy w życiu, cóż... pewnie coś w tym jest. W ostatnim roku liceum i później przez parę lat z ekipą techników ekonomistów (skończyłem Ekonomik) chodziliśmy do pubu i na... dyskoteki, tak, tak... dobrze słyszycie, no co... Tomasz musiał się wyszaleć, wszak tyle lat wegetował :P Później się dowiedziałem od kolegi Artura, że to niby ode mnie zaczęły się wypady na dyski, interesujące. Żeby aspołeczna kreatura mogła zainicjować takie cóś ? Szok... a może cicha woda brzegi rwie ? Tiaa, czasami może i rwie, yea, yea... whatever.
Więc bawiło się też przy prymitywnej techniawce, trance czy house, jak zwał tak zwał. Co jak co, ale myślę, że ta muzyka dobrze nastraja. Idealna nie tylko do zabawy ale też słuchania przy czynnościach wymagających dużej koncentracji i skupienia np. dla kierowców czy w pracy. Trance Cię nie rozproszy. Nie będę tutaj wymieniał wykonawców, jest tego od grona (nie wspominając o remixach i remixach remixów, itd.), a w sumie w przypadku techno/trance nigdy nie zwracałem uwagi na wykonawcę, aczkolwiek charakterystyczne remixy Benny Benassi'ego rozpoznam wszędzie. Wspomnę jedynie o jednym kawałku, który można by na siłę wepchnąć do pudełka pt. muzyka eksperymentalna, mowa tutaj o utworze Tracking, John Marks'a. Wypady na dyski miały też jeszcze inny aspekt, ale może tutaj nie będę go poruszał, niemniej epizod ten trwał relatywnie krótko. Teraz czasem (czyt. raz na ruski rok) się przejdę, odreagować.
Oczywiście w międzyczasie nie porzuciłem ostrzejszych klimatów, broń Boże. Po roku (2006) nastąpiła drobna zmiana w trybie studiów, znów nowe twarze, znów problem z aklimatyzacją, eh. W pewnej grze on-line poznałem Alana – znawcę folku, średniowiecznych klimatów, ale ostrzejszych również – który na forum naszego „klanu” rzucił link do lasta, czemu wtedy nie zbadałem tego dokładniej ? Nie wiem.
Dopiero w 2008 r. jakoś mnie pokusiło, aby spróbować. No i się zaczęła przygoda, która trwa do dziś. Uświadomiłem sobie, że w tym czego słuchałem, w moich zbiorach panuje kompletny chaos, pomijam brak tagów... w ogóle porzuciłem wedlowską mieszankę, zbyt dużo się nazbierało zwyczajnych kawałków. Dzięki lastowi zacząłem poszukiwać perełek. Natrafiłem na kilka ciekawych kapel takich jak mało znana Xera, asturiańska grupa grająca swego rodzaju elektroniczny folk, ze swoim magicznym albumem Lliendes oraz niedawno wydanym Tierra. Kolejnym gigantem okazała się Hevia, grająca też asturiański folk (ale bez elektroniki), na swoim koncie mają kilka ciekawych albumów, mój ulubiony Obsession. Tak naprawdę, to zaczęło się od utworu jaki gdzieś znalazłem mianowicie Busindre Reel z albumu Tierra De Nadie. Innym niezwykłym artystą, którego znalazłem dzięki lastowi był Josh Groban, młody o niezwykłym głowie śpiewak operowy. Wspominałem o ciarkach ? You Raise Me Up (z przyjemnej płytki Closer), to kolejny, jeden z niewielu utworów, który działa na mnie niezwykle pozytywnie.
Alan podsunął mi też parę ciekawych propozycji m.in. ostry kawałek Inis Mona kapeli Eluveitie - kolejny ciekawy mix, folk metal, nie wpadłbym na to że można połączyć z powodzeniem w taki sposób gatunki muzyczne, Faun (z cudnym kawałkiem Egil Saga) – pogan folk, ciekawy „średniowieczny” folk, ha... power metalowy Blind Guardian ze swoimi epickimi opowieściami, oraz parę innych.
Muszę jeszcze wspomnieć o koncercie 20-lecia istnienia grupy Carrantuohill w Teatrze Ziemi Rybnickiej na jaki udało mi się szczęśliwym trafem załapać. Panowie zaprosili kilka znanych polskich osobistości, m.in. był Ernest Bryll, który z tego co kojarzę tłumaczył teksty pieśni (?) irlandzkich na potrzeby płyty Inis, o której już wspominałem. Była, niespodzianka, Jurek Owsiak, który dodatkowo nakręcał całą imprezę. Dodatkowo dostałem specjalną limitowaną płytę jubileuszową, nie przeznaczoną do dystrybucji.
Koncert, za koncertem, super :) Znów z Damianem jedziemy na koncert Ironów, tym razem Somewere Back in Time World Tour '08 na Stadionie Gwardii w Warszawie, kilka ciekawostek: w supporcie córka Harrisa – Lauren Harris, pokazała pazurek, tego dnia Bruce Dickinson obchodził swoje 50-lat, musiał być w ciężkim szoku jak usłyszał 30-tysięcy mord śpiewających mu „100-lat”, sam koncert? Cóż... dłuugo go będę jeszcze wspominał. W supporcie dodatkowo wystąpiła polska grupa Made Of Hate, prezentując swój debiutancki album Bullet In Your Head, niestety, w trakcie koncertu padł im kocioł, na szczęście udało im się pożyczyć chyba od Ironów, dzięki czemu mogli dokończyć swój koncert.
Krótko po tym jak stałem się lastowcem okazało się, że w grupie mamy konkretnego melomana, w dodatku utalentowanego, Michała. Nie kłamię jeśli nazwę go żywą encyklopedią. Michał podsunął mi naprawdę wiele, niemalże same rewelacje. Przede wszystkim projekt A.A. Lucassena Ayreon (dosyć ciekawą rock operę), w szczególności muszę wymienić albumy 01011001 (tzw. binarka) oraz The Human Equation, z dosłownie samymi perełkami. Ale oczywiście to nie wszystko, hmm... w sumie to musiałbym wymienić całą dyskografię Ayreona... :) Michałowi także zawdzięczam powolne, ale ważne, że w ogóle przekonanie się do trashu jaki wyprodukowała Metallica, oraz progresji The Gathering (nad Dream Theater jeszcze pracujem), do power metalu nie musiał mnie przekonywać, niemniej wskazał zajebistą kapelę Sonata Arctica.
Wracając do Ayreona, cały koncept polegał na zaproszeniu różnych artystów, udział wzięło ich naprawdę wielu, i to nie byle kto. Zaczęliśmy badać tych mniej znanych, m.in. Marcelę Bovio (jedną z moich ulubionych wokalistek), co ciekawe Arjen stworzył pod Marcelę Stream of Passion, razem nagrali bardzo przyjemny album Embrance The Storm, wydane także zostało DVD z koncertem Live in the Real World – po prostu cudo. Kolejnym tworem sfory Marceli był album The Flame Within, nie muszę chyba mówić, że genialny.
Razem z Michałem braliśmy udział w kilku ciekawych eventach, m.in. zaliczyliśmy dwa koncerty Beltaine (w Tychach oraz Imielinie) , Festiwal Sari w Żorach, oraz Przystanek Woodstock w Kostrzynie nad Odrą, który zgromadził ponoć pół miliona ludzi! Cóż, niestety z pewnych względów „organizacyjnych” nie udał nam się tak do końca ten PW, no ale zaliczyliśmy kilka szczególnych koncertów. Przede wszystkim magiczny koncert jaki dała atmasfera z Ukrainy (znów poczułem ciarki na plecach!), Clawfinger, Volbeat czy DUBSKA. W sumie fajnie było, śmiesznie momentami, aczkolwiek do pociągu woodstockowego już nigdy nie wsiądę, na Woods lepiej jechać czymś innym, lub chociaż inną linią. Tydzień po Woodstocku leczyłem jeszcze gardło :)
Działo się trochę, działo... ale z pewnością to dopiero początek...

Część VI – The Hidden Chapter – (Jutro?)
Przyszłość – więcej Woodstocka, więcej koncertów, więcej kolekcji

Co będzie jutro ? Nie wiem, niestety nie jestem potomkiem Nostradamusa. Ale wiem jedno, chciałbym i będę do tego dążył, aby pomnażać swoją kolekcję płyt CD/DVD, szczególnie limited edition oraz kolekcjonerskich, większość z albumów które wymieniłem widnieją na mojej „liście życzeń”.
Koncerty, koncerty i jeszcze raz koncerty... mimo że niezwykle kosztowne, wielokrotnie przewyższają koszt jednej płyty, warte są świeczki. Takich wrażeń nigdy nie doświadczysz oglądając jakąś koncertówkę... nigdy. Woodstock ? To nie tylko festiwal muzyczny, to coś więcej... nie wiem jak to opisać, to trzeba po prostu przeżyć i poczuć. Jak powiedział Kuba z komedii Chłopaki nie płaczą:
„I o to chodzi, trzeba kolekcjonować mocne wrażenia.”
Muzyka już od dawna stała się dla mnie jak druga połówka; sprawia, że mam się po co uśmiechać, wspiera mnie w ciężkich momentach, podnosi na duchu, uświadamia, że warto żyć pełną piersią i nie przejmować się pierdołami. Nie wiem co bym bez Niej zrobił. Nie mam zamiaru zrywać takiego związku. Amen! ;)


Wiele rzeczy z powodu wycieków pamięci inne z lenistwa pominąłem, niemniej jak coś się przypomni lub zachce to dziennik nie omieszkam zaktualizować. Natomiast to co się dziać będzie po 1 stycznia 2010 zapewne wyląduje w innym wpisie za jakieś hmm... X lat, ew. jak znów pojawi się jakaś nietypowa inspiracja.

This is 100% mainstream trash; not-so-famous bands have plenty of annoying tunes too, but flaming them just isn't as much fun.

15 - James Blunt: You're Beautiful


I don't know James Blunt. I don't know what kind of a person he really is, but the air of douchiness surrounds him like a shimmering cocoon. And he's the vocal equivalent of nails on a chalkboard. Unfortunately this song was a huge hit, I kept hearing it everywhere, and every time I heard it I had an increasing desire to punch James Blunt's face.

14 - Mika: We Are Golden


You know those 2 girls 1 cup reaction videos that are all over the Net? That's what my face was like when I saw & heard this shit. It's like a unicorn lifting its tail & dropping sparkly rainbow dung onto a field of gold & diamonds.

13 - Maroon 5: She Will Be Loved (or any other track, really)


Their music sucks, their singer sounds like a neutered tomcat, and worst of all-he seems to be convinced that he's the material that wet female dreams are made of. This song has assaulted my ears countless times, in situations where escape was impossible (during bus rides, for example) and I can't even describe how much I've grown to hate it.

12 - Cher: Believe


At one point, Tom Cruise considered devouring her brains. Unfortunately he didn't act on his impulses. Cher has a man-voice (possibly a result of all those hormones she stuffed into herself to stop the natural aging process) and looks just a tad more plastic than a lego figure. Believe is her last big hit, and it's made even more horrible than usual by her heavily autotuned man-voice and the cheesy dance beat. Yuck.

11 - Gloria Gaynor: I Will Survive

Stupid, emotionally challenged, superficial, sheep-headed teenagers of today-this is what you want, this is what you need, EAT UP.

8 - Madonna: Give It 2 Me


I love Madonna. I still think that Ray of Light is the best pop album ever. Her late 90's-early 00's work was mature, artistic, beautiful. Confessions on a Dance Floor was fun, hip & cool. Then something happened to her (or should I say, INSIDE HER DAMN HEAD) and Hard Candy was born. Thoroughly atrocious, with only a few tolerable tunes, most notably Miles Away. Give It 2 Me (see, she used 2 instead of To, because that's like, cool and stuff and young people do that) is nothing more than the sad attempt of an aging woman to appeal to audiences that are constantly bombarded by the onslaught of 20-something whorish starlets. Her most recent "hit", Celebration accomplished the near-impossible mission of being even shittier than Give It 2 Me. Madge needs to reinvent herself, and FAST.

You can't even call this "music" legally.

6 - Kylie Minogue: I Should Be So Lucky


I should be so lucky lucky lucky lucky on a faraway tropical island, blissfully unaware of this song's existence...

5 - Guns N' Roses: Sweet Child O' Mine


I don't hate this song because it comes from an overrated band composed of stupid douchebags with over-inflated egos (if I cared about the egos of musicians I may not listen to any major bands at all); I hate it because I can't stand the whining and squealing of Axl Rose, and it's overplayed to the point where I just cringe whenever I hear it. Same goes for most of their hits. 'Nuff said.

3 - Enrique Iglesias: Takin' Back My Love


WOW. This guy is so deeply in love with himself, it's a wonder he didn't start a campaign for the legalization of self-marriage yet. He pouts more than a female supermodel and tongue-fucks various chicks in each of his videos to show what a walking, talking bomb of manliness he is. He hardly sings, most of his vocals sound like a random dude attempting to win back his woman by performing cheesy romantic karaoke under her window. I'd throw bricks at him.

2 - Fergie: Glamorous and every other fucking piece of garbage excuse for a song she ever unleashed upon the world


There are artists who annoy me. Then there are "artists" who annoy me even more. And then there's THIS steaming, epic pile of horseshit. Read these lyrics and tell me you don't feel like kicking this conceited caricature of a human female IN THE BALLS. Consumerism, greed, narcissism and careless stupidity enhanced by all the plastic surgery money can buy, but still ugly both on the inside & out. As much as I detest Perez Hilton, he was right about this one.
