Brendan is not less famous in the music industry. He's just not a sell out, nor does he compromise his integrity. My guess is that he's turned down more offers than he can shake a stick at, refusing to be anyone's musical trick pony. According to the tasty tidbits he's offered up from the new album, I smell world domination! WOS, no one is asking you to take sides and it's not the opinion that matters, it's the arrogance that accompanies a negative one. You know that old saying, "If you don't have anything nice to say........? Serious musicians are not people pleasers. I doubt they compose thinking, "Everybody better like this or else!" We all have our preferences and if we don't like something, we don't listen to it. We don't go out of our way to ask that artist if they could tweak their sound a little more to our liking.

Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry are Dead Can Dance.. Dead Can Dance's Songs cannot be seperated from each other even if there are songs which are more influenced by Brendan or by Lisa. No doubt that Brendan, you're the composer of most songs. I prefer the songs you influenced more because I can sink deep into the lyrics, but that's only my opinion. I think you are less famous because it is just more difficult to understand the meaning of the songs and if you're not able to do that you might not find the key to get into it... Lisa's music is soulful as she says, you're the guy who is more analytical. However... the combination and the magical interaction of both might be the spirit of all that.

Yes, expect a verbal spanking if you come into this man's domain with anything shy of respect. What's ridiculous is teenagers who don't know the meaning of respect, coming in here telling an artist such as Brendan what he aught to do with his music like he's some kind of circus monkey. Maybe she didn't realize she was actually exchanging words with the man himself, and maybe she thought being a self proclaimed critic made her look cool, but all it did was make her look like an antagonistic, high maintenance little brat. Well, if you ask me directly : i´m not sure yet, do i have to choose sides? on her side, there´s just more material to listen to, and yes, i really like it. i also enjoy "Eye of the Hunter", and i noticed "Utopia" sounds different...so i´m looking forward to the new album, thanks for the answer. But neither side is able to become my favourite, because DCD own the top :o) ...it´s great you´re caring about your pages, other artists don´t, but these public discussions have become ridiculous. As everywhere in life, there are a thousand opinions. And in the end, you must decide which one matters for you and mostly, you end up with your own.
