Sometimes it takes a movie to introduce younger people to singers, I bet Walk The Line introduced Johnny Cash to a lot of younger people, i'm 33 but personally i have loved Buddy Holly since was about 10

At least they're getting exposed to it, because sadly this stuff has all but disappeared from radio and most people never go further back than the Beatles or Led Zeppelin.When I was younger I found a lot of music I never would've heard otherwise thanks to the movies, and I would bet a lot of you did as well.
