So which member has aged the best? I stumbled across a recent (but small) picture of Stephen recently: http://www.adm.heacademy.ac.uk/about-us/staff-team (bottom of page) and the years appear to have been fairly kind to him; Chris is looking pretty dapper in a middle-aged, cropped grey hair sort of way; but recent pictures of Richard? Gosh, the man is looking a bit haggard! :-)

BTW, the twin cooling towers seen in the background of one segment of the video (the 'Tinsley Towers', a bit of a well-known landmark in Sheffield) were demolished a little over a month ago!

Agreed. 'Sensoria' is a terrific video!

CoKlaComa şunu yazdı:
@ijabbott63: I hear it that way as well… Although I have seen the Outer Limits episode it was sampled from and while watching the television program, it definitely sounds like “of Earth”. I guess there’s always the possibility of the Cabs having altered the original in some way… Wouldn’t have been the first time for them ;-)
-
ijabbott63 şunu yazdı:
@CoKlaComa: well done for finding the pic. And I also hear the quote as "There's 70 billion people in there." (Or else my email sig has quoted it wrong all these years!) @bunkerman: can you ask him who 'Victor' is (re. Photophobia)?
-

CoKlaComa şunu yazdı:
@ijabbott63 & bunker man… You're both correct about the poster... it is from Microphonies. I just found this pic: http://fusionanomaly.net/ferrisbuellersroom.jpg although, the "70 Billion" quote is from an Outer Limits episode titled Demon With A Glass Hand... you may however be right about the "On Earth" or more likely "Of Earth" .. I'm not sure...
-
bunkerman şunu yazdı:
ijabbott63 & CoKlaComa: the poster on ferris's wall actually dates from 1984. it was designed by the graphic artist neville brody (who at the time was art director for the magazine "the face") and it was promoting the album "microphonies", which was released in march of that year. CoKlaComa: the quote in your post should actually transcribe as: "there are 70 billion people on earth ...where are they hiding...where are they hiding?" and was sampled dialogue from an early 1960's episode of "the twilight zone", although i can't remember which one? i'll ask richard h kirk when i next see him.
-
ijabbott63 şunu yazdı:
@CoKlaComa , are you sure about the poster? 'Code' wasn't released until 1987, whereas 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' was released in 1986.

Also, what's everyone's take on 'Mix-Up?' It's not only one of my favorites from the Cabs, but one of my faves of all time. You can listen to it and really draw comparisons to what Throbbing Gristle were doing at that time, and I think it was at this point where the Cabs took the left fork and TG took the right- still going the same way but on a very different road to get there. Favorite tracks- No Escape and On Every Other Street.
