1-Cake 1991’de Sacramento/Kaliforniya’da kurulan grup. 1990’lar ve 2000’lerin başında oldukça popüler olan grup bugüne kadar 5 stüdyo albümü çıkarmıştır. Her ne kadar müzikleri bazı kesimlerce alternatif ya da indie rock olarak adlandırılsa da, tarzları funk, ska, pop, jazz, rap ve country gibi farklı türlerin bir kombinasyonudur. Kariyerleri boyunca en büyük hitleri «Never There», «The Distance», «Sheep Go to Heaven» parçaları ve «I will Survive» coverı olmuştur. Cake’in son albümü «Pressure Chief» adıyla 2004 yılında çıktı. Bu albüm sonrası bir de 2007’de b-side ve yayınlanmamış parçalardan oluşan bir albümleri çıktı.

WE ARE WIDENING THE CORRIDORS AND ADDING MORE LANES Yeah Fashion Nugget and Comfort Eagle are a couple of my all-time favorite albums. I really need to go seem them in concert one of these days.

I can't believe 'I will survive' is at the top. It's good, but in my opinion, there are at least 10 Cake songs that are better.

Cake is a fucking great band, and anyone who says otherwise doesn't know enough about music to talk. I saw them play at The University of Chicago not long ago... it was an outside show, and RIGHT when they opened with "It's coming Down", it started POURING! Fucking amazing show. They had to stop after an hour and a half though cause it started storming. Even so, one of the best shows ive been to!

To that guy below... I love it when John McCrea says stuff like "oh yeah: and "oh no" >_>. Oh, and I got to talk to him face-to-face at the concert. A tall friend of mine (I'm tall too) hauled me up on his shoulders so I could answer John's question to win one of them trees. I didn't win, but boy was it an experience.
