I just found out about Soulseek. It is officially my favourite tool ever. The selection of rare music is incredible! I found old Masonna releases not available anywhere else on there, and today I found an album I have been trying to find for about six months - Kramm's Coeur. It's a blend of synthpop and darkwave. Most of it sounds like a more danceable version of Das Ich's Das dunkle Land, which was one of my favourite Das Ich tracks. I'm really happy about this find.

First: Sorry dudes, this entry is just about a german forum.

Sodele, ich denke mal, dass diese Überschrift recht neugierig macht. The Halls; Was ist das und was hat man davon zu erwarten? Was sich hinter dieser Community, die eine von vielen im Netz ist, verbirgt, mag ich hier mal kurz erläutern.

Bei The Halls handelt es sich um einen Forenverband, der aus zwei Foren zusammengesetzt ist und dem eine zusammengeschweißte Community angehört.

Das erste, namensgebende Forum trägt den Titel Halls of Darkness. Es bietet Gelegenheit für Diskussionen rund um Metal-Musik, aber auch Themen wie Hardcore, Hardrock, Gothic oder andere Arten von Musik sowie Musik allgemein können angesprochen werden.

Das zweite Forum trägt den Titel The Halls of Radio und stellt die Community um das Internetradio. Nebst verschiedenen Off Topic-Bereichen, deren Herzstück Die Lounge, in der man unbeschwert mit den anderen Mitgliedern plaudern kann, ist, gibt es noch die Möglichkeiten, den Radiomoderatoren während ihrer Sendezeiten zuzuhören. Die Radiomoderatoren senden live und machen auch ebenso live ihre Ansagen. Desweiteren kann man während der Sendungen im Forum mit ihnen schreiben.
Viele Moderatoren spielen in ihren Sendungen größtenteils Metal oder mit Metal verwandte Musik, aber einige Moderatoren spielen auch mal Unerwartetes wie Jazz oder puristischen Folk.
Wer gerne einmal zuhören möchte, braucht nichts weiter zu tun, als sich die Radio Stream-Datei (Klicke hier für diese Datei, optional entnehme er oder sie der Website den Link) runterzuladen und diese während einer Radiosendung mit einem beliebigen Media Player zu öffnen.

Im Übrigen sei erwähnt, dass The Halls auch über eine eigene Website. verfügt. Dort erhaltet ihr alle wichtigen Informationen bezüglich des Forums und des Radios und könnt die Radio Stream-Datei runterladen sowie von Moderatoren ausgewählte News lesen. Auch der Sendeplan ist dort einsehbar.

Another boring day for me, so here's another spectacular blog entry for you! ;-)

I noticed three general things when going through that long agenda:
1. My taste has changed very much over the years. Not that I think that would be anything unusual…
2. I visited an awful lot of Fiddler’s Green gigs. Looking back I sometimes can’t imagine why I needed to go to 6 concerts in 3 weeks. Well, I was young… :)
3. Spending my money for concerts has always been more important and satisfying for me than buying material things. Enjoying music that is played live can be such a great experience for mind, body and soul. I would miss it so much if I wouldn’t be able to visit at least a few concerts now and then.

…on the other hand there were also events I didn’t enjoy, so I haven’t listed them.
