I saw Dirty Three live a few years back supporting PJ Harvey. Knew nothing of them at the time yet it was one of the most emotionally intense gigs I've seen.

Listen to ''She Has No Strings Apollo' next. I think that everything they have made is fantastic and that they have hardly made a dud record. So I suggest you get everything and anything you might like that is out of print from soulseek. Buy any of their records you can off the net or from record stores as they could have all or some the four releases above and maybe Horse Stories too.

nick vb. depends on what you consider 'active'. as a group that live on different continents they're hard to get in one place but they do make a good effort considering... warren ellis is also busy being a bad seed, grinderman-ing and writing beautifully epic film scores; jim white is forever touring with the likes of nina nastasia and cat power amongst others; mick turner's a bit more of a hermit and catching a show of his is like finding rocking horse poo, but he has been doing some solo shows in north america recently with six organs of admittance and guesting with cat power. they're very busy boys indeed! i have a feeling in my water that a new album MUST be on its way soon. which hopefully mean a proper tour as opposed to the recent spate of random appearances. fingers (and everything else) crossed. hope that helps :)
