And by debut, I mean the one the current line-up. I don't know the other incarnation.

On the debut, it's all about There's Your Trouble, You Were Mine, and I Can Love You Better. On Fly, it's Cowboy, Without You, Let Him Fly, and Sin Wagon. On Home, it's Travelin', Top of the World, Godspeed, and A Home. On Long Way, it's the title track, Not Ready, Bitter End, and Lubbock.

my advice for any new dixie chickers is to not take their sound from just one song. each album has a different feel to it, and each song on the ablum is pretty much totally different than the others. sample the songs they have to sample on there. and go look up some of their albums on limewire.

fly is their green album, but its still excellent [cowboy take me away, goodbye earl, and hole in my head] Most of Wide Open Spaces is just wonderful [especially side open spaces, once youve loved somebody and tonight the heartaches on me] Home is pure excellence, their cover of landslide is amazing, travelin solider has been known to make me cry, and top of the world is brillant.

The Long Way Around is my fave, and if you want a sing-a-longh-scream go for Not Ready To Make Nice. Travelin' Soldier is a beautiful song aswell.

The Dixie Chicks are sooo great! Their last two cds, home and taking the long way, are both amazing. They invited me back stage at one of their concerts, too! : )

I will say that they deserved it out of the people that were nominated. How's that?

And by the way, there is rarely a instance where album of the year is won by a deserving party. This last year was no different. I like the Dixie Chicks but the grammys are pretty much a meaningless award as far as credibility goes.

Natalie for president! Much love to these guys. They so deserve whatever recognition they get. The Top of the World Your CD's seriously blow me away! Nothing like live concert material.

hmm, shrugs, it has enough conviction for me. The documentary made about the Chicks, Stand Up & Sing was great.. Just makes me want to support them all the more and shows not only what went into the making of the album, but their mindset throughout the whole ordeal and beyond.

So how does similar artists actually work? In other shoutboxes people keep saying it's that people listen to those artists as well. Well, if you look at the current top Dixie Chicks listeners that doesn't seem to be the case at all... (which I kind of suspected) so maybe it's tags?

Too bad their quality tracks like Cowboy Take Me Away and Wide Open Spaces are so far down on the weekly charts.

I really think they deserved the award of Best Album. I really like them after hearing it.

Gnarls Barkley I admittedly haven't listened to. But if it's just more songs like Crazy, then it's just a fluff-filled pop album with little meaning; just there for people who want to have a good time. I'm not saying Taking the Long Way was that much more substantive. But song for song, it was a very solid album. It's not a great album, but very strong.

As much as I like RHCP, the album wasn't that great, or very original. It sounds like a rehash of all their previous music and there was nothing particularly mind-blowing about it. Also, it was too long, double albums have too much filler. Better to edit it down to one single disc packed with stronger material.

Actually i think it was pretty smart to insult Bush. Now they sell alot more records and get sell out their concerts in europe were most people hate bush and love country.

...(continued)...And the Dixie chicks have plenty of pre-Bush attack Grammys to flaunt on their mantles, so there's proof that it's not all political. This is coming from someone who admittedly doesn't even watch/care about award shows; ha. But looking it at a fair angle here, it was a well-deserved win.
