@Yhavimoth: Octavarium is utter crap. Not as bad as Systematic Chaos, but regarding DT's standards the release was a pretty black day. I'd take any song from this album, or actually any other DT album over these two... And yes, this is a great song.

So much blah blah in the comments. Pull Me Under is still a fantastic song, regardless of how long ago it was made or how much the band has evolved. Your arguments are invalid. The song was good then and it is good now. Good music is timeless. Just because the band has made "better" songs (which is a matter or personal preference) since Pull Me Under, it doesn't mean it made this song any worse. Just stop the bullshit and enjoy the music.

@Haliski - This song is still topping the charts because it's a great song, regardless of how the band "evolves". I could list countless bands with songs from their first/older albums still topping their newer stuff, but it's a waste of time. If you are no longer listening to a song because a band has evolved out of it, you are not a true fan.

I could listen to the music of DT forever, love how awesome they are...but I just can't stand Labrie's voice. I honestly think you could put Kermit da Frog on vocals and he'd do a better job than Labrie. Otherwise, there's very few bands that can touch these guys musically.

The drumming at 3:15 is ridiculous. It's already standard enough in the verses prior but it's like he had no idea how to fill that part up and increase the tension leading up to the solo, so he just throws on a thrash beat for twenty seconds. And boring snare metronomery is doubly crap when compounded with the 80's pop reverb they put on it. Fates Warning's No Exit suffers from similar.
