My first DT song, been hooked ever since. Still my favorite
-
Ndawg19 şunu yazdı:
Yes...it DOES sound like Blackened at 7:15
-
SDFprowler şunu yazdı:
It's supposed to have a "recycled" riff from the Glass Prison (parts 1 - 3). This Dying Soul (parts 4 and 5) is the second song in a long series of songs (or parts of songs) that tell a story (based on the 12 steps of AA). Therefore there should be 12 parts when all is said and done.

MasterOfPizza99 şunu yazdı:
Sounds like The Eagles.

becker_90 şunu yazdı:
Come to me my friend (Listen to me) I'll help this torture end (Help to set me free) Let your ego go (I can't carry this load) You can't go through this alone (I feel so hopeless and exposed) You'll find your peace of mind (Give me some direction) You can no longer hide (Break out of this isolation) Let humility (Openness, honesty) And become what you can be (A healing tranquility) = BLACKENED

Bleach00 şunu yazdı:
Recycled riff from the Glass Prison, and has anyone noticed that 7:15 sounds like Blackened by Metallica? Great song though.

Karukara şunu yazdı:
hemlokk couldn't be more correct.

Hadn't heard it like for a year! I remember now why I love this fucker!
-
Adapter2 şunu yazdı:
Totally stealing the melody from Blackened at one point, but still... This album rocks hard.
-
thebolt90 şunu yazdı:
Very hard progressive sound. Can't wait to see Dream Theater in a couple days with Opeth!
-
dicknijenkamp şunu yazdı:
pff does the song ever end...
-
Jordoods şunu yazdı:

-
zelmok şunu yazdı:
Very nice lyrics.
-
CapturedSoul şunu yazdı:
Stunning track. The opening is incredible.
-
TomLateralus şunu yazdı:
Like this song, can never get fully into DT though...This is the only album that I can get into a fair bit, because of the heavier, stronger riffs.
-
yagamiioro şunu yazdı:
the best of progressive, listen here¡¡
-
Marc-O18 şunu yazdı:
I think this song is absoluetly great! I agree that sometimes it looks like a kind of patchwork, especially for the Blackened part, but the whole thing sounds great in general!
-
stevetheshrew şunu yazdı:
Awesome band that perform better live than in the studio. If you can not find what you are looking for in DT you do not like prog rock. It is that simple. they get better and better
-
kiddonne şunu yazdı:
love the way the song unwinds, particularly the follow up done by one instrument to the other and they way they seem to flow into a continuous stream, which is the song itself - almost perfect integrated approach!
-
kuroari şunu yazdı:
Even tought LaBrie seems to sing with an apple stuck in his mouth (surprisingly only at Live Albums), Dream Theater is the very best progressive metal of the decade.

myklouie şunu yazdı:
The song rocks.
-

hemlokk şunu yazdı:
I always think Dream Theater is the best band in the world until James LaBrie opens his whiny, melodramatic mouth.
-
darkambition şunu yazdı:
This is basically all my favourite bands put into one. Most of you won't feel that way however. And no, this is no where near their worst, stop being ignorant retards.
-
odopa şunu yazdı:
Increible temazo. Un puto himno
-
hageKAGE şunu yazdı:
One of their worst in my humble opinion, not because it's a crap song, but because I fail to avoid seeing it as a patchwork with an unnecessarily wanking solo as the sole added value to riffs and vocal lines and all taken a bit from Tool, a bit from Metallica, a bit from Megadeth, a bit from ARK. :(
-
AkumaZ şunu yazdı:
also, blackened is the end
-
AkumaZ şunu yazdı:
yeah, this song has a definite megadeth groove going on
-
SaberGun şunu yazdı:
sounds like god.
-

magtrio şunu yazdı:
only half decent song they've ever done, but even this gets a little boring a couple of times.
-
Black_Widow_666 şunu yazdı:
sound like tool in some way....
-
darkambition şunu yazdı:
Fucking amazing.
-
monsieurb54 şunu yazdı:
And Bobhope88, I completely agree with you. That shred out of nowhere at the end is one of the few moments I consider DT to be aimlessly wanking. They get that accusation a lot, but I feel that with only a few exceptions (this being one), it's unfair and untrue.

Kind of brilliant really :)Love this one. DT rocks!
-
BobHope88 şunu yazdı:
Damn that shred-out-of-nowhere -ending screws up the whole song. :/ I always stop listening at 10:30.
-
Lunarsight şunu yazdı:
Realistically? Dream Theater has been tinkering with rap for a long time. You hear it as early as Images&Words.
-
DrGonzo85 şunu yazdı:

blackened is the end
