Yes, the pitchfork review sucks. I love LOVE. I hope the next Foetus album will have a lot of this unhealthy passion style stuff in it again. And i hope he's not completely gone Manorexia. btw: Where i live people think Red Hot Chilli Peppers are a cool band. So trying to introduce Foetus to them: Nah, won't work.

I have given up. Most people don't wanna hear anything that is genuinely different. They will maybe dip their toes in polite waters such as minimal, post-rock, or (shudder) Idm/triphop/downtempo, something that seems "cool". I even find that when I have found peeps that have open ears, they don't always take to Foetus. I don't get it, but gave up trying ages ago.

Question: how do people react when you introduce them to Foetus? I usually recommend NAIL first since it's Jim's finest album (I do love where he's been going, though, Nail is just going to be a hard thing to top) and people compare him to crap like SOaD and Maralyn Manson and ugh. They don't listen to good music at all... I made one girl listen to Foetus and she didn't really like it. Of course she was skimming through NAIL and we all know that doesn't do it justice at all. How do you get people to sit down and absorb the greatness and glory that is J.G. Thirlwell's music?!

polymorphous--that sounds fantastic. Jim has taken Foetus into a totally new direction with Love (imo) but it's still just as awesome as his other stuff and still just as Foetus. Some people don't like Love but I ... love it.
