What language is "Il Tango Della..." in? Better question, what does it mean? It's one of my favorites :)

Wow, you're real cool, questioning my sexuality and all, you got me. That aside, compared to their previous releases, Razia's Shadow is terrible.

i'm quoting you: "Music is serious." how is it even possible to misconstrue that statement? don't backpedal and claim that you meant that YOU take music seriously, because those two points are not the same, at all. and as far as me not understanding your logic... answer this question honestly. how many times did you have to use a dictionary to understand what i said?

claiming that music is inherently serious is possibly the dumbest fucking thing i've ever heard come out of another human. ever. no legitimate art is created from a foundation of strictly mechanical calculation. it's intentionally malleable and forgiving, and it takes a humorous perspective to get such an abstract discipline down. anyone that claims otherwise clearly has absolutely no understanding of the creation of music, on any level.

you got me dude, i know all things brilliant because i don't think razia's shadow is brilliant. also yeah, i claim to me a fucking music-god because i like radiohead

what the fuck are YOU talking about? she didn't say music isn't serious. razia's shadow is not brilliant. is it an interesting change of pace? yes. is it an intriguing idea? yes. are there parts about it that are well done? definitely. brilliant? nope.

wonderland is my favorite album of all time. That being said I actually listened to Razia's Shadow beforehand and I think Wonderland just has catchier music and better lyrics, its like poetry. Razia's Shadow is trying to capitalize on this lyrical artistry and ends up taking itself way too seriously. Still, Forigive Durden = one of the most under-appreciated bands of all time.

I never really could get into Forgive Durden. I listened to Razia's Shadow, and I liked it a lot, but I didn't think it'd stick with me and make me want to listen to it over and over and over again. But now I can't stop listening to it. XD I love it. Let's just hope it sticks for GOOD instead of being a temporary obsession. (Obviously it won't stay an obsession forever, but what I mean is that I hope the replay value sticks after the obsession wears off.)

maybe the story line was a bit cliche but just consider the album overall. it's music, brilliant music not a real play or whatever you're considering in it's stead. i mean, the sound, the characters/guest singers that fit so perfectly, it's a beautiful album coming from beautiful minds. dutton and his brother put it together so well.

yeah Razia's Shadow was the first cd I got by them and I liked it (I'm saying this very loosly) but now that I've got their other cds I listen to them a lot more

Its not going to grow on me, I guarantee it. There is nothing deep or brilliant about it that would cause me to listen a second time and get more out of it. The story was full of themes and and outcomes that have been done a million times before. Like I said, I thought the instrumentals of the album were very good, but personally that's not enough to make me want to listen again.

honestly, i absolutely love razia's shadow. seriously its one of my favorite albums of all time, but i think i might just love wonderland more... they're both perfection really. thomas dutton ceases to amaze me!

ok I just listened to Razia's Shadow. I dig what he was trying to do with that, making a musical and all that. The musical aspect was pretty good, I agree, but I thought the story was really lame, cliche, and unoriginal. Once again though, kudos to the guy for trying...just didn't do it for me though.

I was actually introduced to them by seeing em open for Dear and the Headlights (another great band, check them out too). Basically, Thomas sings all of his parts, there's another singer/guitarist that sings all of the male guest voices, and then there's a singer/keyboardist that sings all the female voices. They have all the strings and woodwinds and such on a sampler. INCREDIBLE performance, but i'm not sure if the other members he's touring with are there just for the tour, or if they're in the actual band.
