This was on my recommended artist similar to many of bands I very much respect. When I saw the comments, well, I decided to give it a chance anyway. Maybe it's not like the post-rock I despise.

This band has continued to blow me away time and time again. A friend of mine asked me what they sound like, and I couldn't really give him a straight answer. Calling this band "Post-rock" is an insult in my opinion. Unlike 95% of the post-rock bands out there, Grails innovate instead of rehashing the same tired formula for every album (COUGHEXPLOSIONSINTHESKYCOUGH). They're so much more than that. Instrumental, psychedelic, ambient, mindblowingy awesome music.

Anything from Black Tar Prophecies on is consciousness expanding. This is one of the best, if not the best, post-rock band out there.
