A mixture of Warning and Nimrod, who'd think it'd get so much bashing. Heh. Go figure.

Thanks for supporting my theory.

great music... green day is still punk not because of their music but because of their attitude... just look at their side projects

Haha, 90% of the users participating in this shoutbox (arguing that this is the best album evaaar) are between 13 and 18 years old, wow, what a fucked up generation...

matrix is completely right. I stopped listening to this album for awhile because I couldn't stand all the songs being force-fed to me all through the media, but recently I got back into it. It tells a great story that I can definitely relate to and the music itself is pretty good to. It's obviously different than what you'd expect from Green Day, and I hate the fact that it was promoted so much and gobbled up by the mainstream, but it's still a brilliant album. I actually don't listen to it too much and it's far from my favorite of theirs (I'd much rather listen to Dookie, Insomniac, or Nimrod), but it's their most "intelligent" album, and probably their best from a technical standpoint.

Everyone hates this album because of a MAKEOVER, and last time I checked Green Day wasn't that shallow so why should their fans be? this album is as awesome as thier older stuff just give it a chance people

Oddly enough, I usually can't stand mainstream music, I'm not a fan of older Green Day (other than "Brain Stew" and a few other exceptions), and yet I think this is a phenomenal album. Very misunderstood, both by the people who bash it without giving it a chance and by the people who listen to it without paying attention to story of the album. This is more than just a political punk album. It's a damn good concept album, and one that has unfortunately been misinterpreted and misunderstood by the mainstream audience that has fallen in love with it.

This is s t i l l a really good album, but also a perfect example how promoting too much can make a popular band t o o popular, and in result d e s p i s e d by fans of their previous efforts. Pity.

this is punk

cloudy_skies şunu yazdı:
I don't understand why everyone shits on this album. There's a lot of great songs and riffs here, and the way they tied everything into a central concept is really cool. It's like Green Day meets The Wall-era Pink Floyd meets The Who.

coming from a huge fan, this shit makes me sick. not because it's political, not because it did well commercially, but because the music is terrible. everything else is just icing on the cake

FUCK YOU ALL THAT SAY THIS ONE IS BAD BECAUSE OF POLITIC:IT IS NOT THEIR BEST;BUT GOOD!
-
Rawrz811 şunu yazdı:
Why the fuck are most of the songs combined on this? Lamee. This album as much as people wanna hate on it for not being punk is damn good and one of the best to come in a long time. Just the way the story flows so smooth from track to track is excellent.
