Tue 30 Jun – QUART 2009

The opening day of the Quart Fest was amazing!

First an Australian band called Juke Kartel played. They aren't so well known in Europe yet, because they have pretty much just moved to Los Angeles, US. But they were amazing! I loved all the songs they played durring the time they had on-stage. And not are they great as a band, but amazing people, too. They are funny and love their fans. I totally suggest Rock N' Roll fans to listen, or at least give Juke Kartel a try and see if you like their music. :3

After Juke Kartel a Norwegian Rock band called Skambankt performed. To be from the same city as them I'm not such a big fan. (I prefer 80s Rock bands, really.) But the crowd that were Skambankt fans seemed to love it. It's easier to see the energy in a band when you like them, so I cannot really say my meaning about them. But one thing is for sure; the last song they played was good!

Then an English girl band called McQueen played. They were amazing! Leah, the vocalist, got a great voice, and a great sense of humour as well. McQueen were heavier and probably ends up on the list of Metal bands. I'm not such a huge fan of Metal bands, but I have to say I loved McQueen~ Those 45 minutes I stood almost in the front was great.

And all in the end what we all had been waiting for... Slash & Friends. It was just... wow... I cannot find words for how amazing it was. <3 The legendary guitarist had brought with him great musicans, as John 5, Fergie, Ronnie Wood, Ozzy Osbourne, Teddy Zigg-Zagg (probably known for people who has watched a Guns N' Roses Use Your Illusion live dvd). I don't remember all of their names, but the show was great! And Leah from McQueen came on-stage and sang Nightrain.

What can I say? That was a night I'll never forget. X3 I'm happy I got to be a part of the Quart 2009. ^ - ^ v

My dad was really into glam metal when I was little. I just remember that I was really impressed that Vixen were a band with females that could make some kick ass songs.

I don't really remember. It might have been due to my interest in '80s music.
