Hinder, 2001 yılında kurulan yeni nesil Amerikan hard rock gruplarından. 5 kişiden oluşan Oklahomalı grubun (2005) Extreme Behavior ve (2008) Take It To The Limit adlı iki albümleri bulunmaktadır. İlk albümlerinden ‘’lips of an angel’’ adlı parçaları ile büyük üne kavuşan grup, uzun süre rock listelerinde 1. sırada kalmayı başardı. ‘’get stoned, better than me, homecoming queen’’ adlı diğer parçaları ile de bu başarılarını pekiştirdiler.

Yeni albümleri Take It To The Limit ise 2008 yılının sonlarında albümle aynı ismi taşıyan parça ile piyasaya sunuldu. Parçada efsanevi Mötley Crüe gitaristi Mick Mars gruba eşlik ediyor. ‘’use me’’ ve ‘’without u’’ adlı şarkılar da tv ve radyolarda sıkça çalınmaktadır.

Ayrıca grup, Saving Label adlı bir başka amerikan hard rock grubunun kendilerini taklit ettiğini iddaa etmektedir.

@Leishtek. You should know by now that music critics have no credibility. Dee Jays have no say in what is played on Radio stations either. It's pretty much an industry run by the record labels with the most pull. How do you think 3Oh!3 ever got on the radio? Calling Hinder one of the worst bands is publicity to get people to want to hear them. Once they do, they say "this has a cool 80's vibe. It's different and I like it".

ROFL even in the bio it says "Hinder are often labeled by professional music critics as one of the worst bands of their era, rivaling their Canadian counter parts, Nickelback."

@Yi Sun-sin. That's my point exactly. The so-called post grunge bands of today need a new label cuz there is n't anything Grungy about them. Just the fact that Mutt Lange produces some of these bands. Most notably Nickelback should tell you that they decend more from the 80's than any other genre. Mutt produced the masssive popular Def Leppard and The Cars which are two of the bands that define the 80's. If your bastardization and hybridization spawned good catchy melodic Rock songs like 80's style then so be it. I'm all for it.

"there is absoloutly nothing grungy about Hinder" - that's exactly the point. You're view of what "post-grunge" is, is incorrect. Post-grunge is a cheap bastardization of grunge - NOT a legitimate continuation of it, as you erroneously believe. You also mistakenly believe Poison, Motley Crue, and other hair metal garbage are good bands - they aren't. They are unspeakably awful. And it's this hybridization with hair metal that makes the current wave of post-grunge so terrible.

Meaning your statements are so ridiculous and inane that you can't possibly be serious and are just posting this shit to stir a reaction. And has it ever occured to you that those '80s cock-rock vibes that you love them for are (among other things) part of why we hate them? It's almost ironic how grunge, the thing that put hair metal out of its misery, spawned post-grunge, which has become the same homogenized, soulless, manufactured wank that it killed in the '90s. As Yi_Sun-sin mentioned, you may not see how bands like post-grunge bands like Hinder could have come from grunge bands like Pearl Jam and Nirvana, but when you look at the first wave of imitators such as Bush, Silverchair, etc. it is a very clear path. Like it or not, they're post-grunge------And BTW, "hard rock" is an umbrella term that encompasses a wide number of genres (including post-grunge), usually used as a cop-out by hair metal and post-grunge fans who don't want to admit they are a fan of said shit genre.

Sorry, but Bush and Silverchair were never as catchy as the Hinders of Today. Not even close. The term Post grunge seems more like a cop out than anything else. Think of the same idiots who now label Horror movies as Torture Porn. Or are you one of those too? Post grunge is just plain stupic term, since there is absoloutly nothing grungy about Hinder, 3 Doors Down and Nickelback. Maybe thier attire, but even Poison and The Crue changed thier glam duds for jeans & Torn t's in the 90's, so a better term would be Glam Rock without the glam.

Hinder Rocks. Can't see why anyone wouldn't like those 80's oozing vibes of Up All Night, Homecomming Queen and Use Me. Maybe if ya stop calling them post grunge and see them as the new wave of Hard Rock of the 2000's, you would appreciate them a lot more.

I'll put it this way for you to try to make it simple - just by looking at humans, it's hard to see how they could possibly have evolved from single celled organisms, but if you look at the intermediary stages of evolution, then it's easy to see the journey from the primordial pools to high rise apartments. It's the same with Hinder and co. Just looking at them at face value, it's hard to see how they could have spawned from Pearl Jam, but looking at the bands that came in between, the evolution (or, I should say "devolution") is clear, i.e, Pearl Jam > Stone Temple Pilots > Silverchair > Creed > Nickelback > Hinder. In light of all this information, it should now be plain to see why "post-grunge' is an appropriate tag for Hinder and their contemporaries. However, you shouldn't even be focusing on the genre labels, but focusing on the music. And in Hinder's case, their music is SHITE.

After the "Creed era" the "Nickelback era" began. Nickelback originally were a post-grunge band similar to Creed, but their sound eventually changed somewhat as they tried to appeal to the lucrative demographic of young white males whose whole lives revolve around race cars, pro-wrestling and boobs. Naturally, their lyrical themes were about boobs, cars, beer and other assorted cock rock pastimes, while the song structure and sound essentially stayed the same as Silverchair/STP post-grunge circa 1995 - this proved to be a stroke of (commercial) genius, as their music was eaten up by the aforementioned young white male demographic who wanted music that looked "deep" on the outside, but was actually misogynistic, hedonistic and seemingly "masculine", just like they were. In turn, Nickelback then gave way to the current wave of post-grunge (which really is something like post-post-post-grunge, if you catch my drift), including Hinder, Theory of a Deadman, Saving Abel and so on.

"Grunge" itself is not really a genre anyway, but a regional scene with bands who played vastly different styles of music. Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam were both lumped under this term, although the former played heavy metal, while PJ was a traditional rock and roll band. In this respect, they were similar to the mainstream hard rock bands from the 70s and 80s, but were being lumped together with punk/alternative influenced bands such as Nirvana. Newer bands who wanted to become famous in the wake of these bands' success naturally were more influenced by the traditional rock of AiC and PJ, rather than the underground-influenced music of Nirvana. You can clearly see the influence of those two bands in early post-grunge such as Stone Temple Pilots and SIlverchair. Those bands themselves, in turn, influenced the next wave including Matchbox 20, Creed etc. At this point, the style and lyrical themes started to change from being "angst" filled to becoming more "cock rock".
