Tree-Fingers...Cold House is definitely their best album, so I would suggest starting there.

hard to say. each album from hood has it's own specific characteristics. if you're into some warmer, fuzzy and sincere indierock aesthetics, check "cabled linear traction" (1991) ^^ as Jamiiiiiieee suggested, "the cycle of the days and seasons" is really awesome as well, but a bit colder and somewhat more quiet. "outside close" is as close they can get to pop, not my preference really. otherwise, just gotta love the band: : O <3333333
