Worst Of 2008
1 Ara 2008, 18:24 yazan GuhhQ

Take That´s new album it's patchy, frequently uninspired and, well, just a bit too safe.

Usher shows signs of self-indulgence, squandering a cameo from Beyoncé on a fairly inconsequential remix at the end of the album, and misguidance, equating growing up with kissing goodbye to the dancefloor. He may be a husband and a father now, but, still only 29, Usher didn't need to hang up his dancing shoes just yet.

I can't believe an artist with such a wonderful voice like Mariah Carey would allow herself to trivialize it with such ghetto lyrics, She is an iconic singer that youth idolize, so why would she (and producers) subscribe to such low-rent content? Is that what America desires?

The Jonas Brothers album It's fun at first, but as each track progresses, it becomes a bit played out, "Burnin' Up" is supposedly the 'best thing' here, and if thats the best these three men can offer, its time to retire.

2008 was a horrible year for Jennifer Hudson. Beyond words..... But talking about music, Hudson doesn't need to shriek to sound like she means it.

Lady GaGa's "The Fame" is an excessive foray into mindless self indulgence. There's nothing remotely interesting about the singer, nor her tiring album. Most of the songs sound the same, lacking any sense of urgency or danceable beat. She sprinkles rap into them to make them even more annoying.

After listening to David Cook debut album, several times, it makes me realize, that arists are better off NOT winning American Idol. This seems way too generic. Its not necessarily bad, but it is pretty boring for the most part, and vocally, he doesn't seem to soar, as he did on the show.

Jason Mraz´s album is annoying. He comes off like a frat boy, arrogant and entitled, and he is not that talented..

I like Janet Jackson but the problem with this album was... well it's not discipline that's the problem, it's bravery, Sadly, after the promising start of the album, Discipline slips into the gloopy, dated sex balladry that's marred her recent career.

Panic! At the Disco´s "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out" was a loud, energetic, fun album to listen to. Everytime I listen to one of the songs, it's a fun experience. It's upbeat and fun to blast and move your head back and forth to and tap your feat.
"Pretty. Odd." is definitely not like that. I bought this album expecting a good time, and it really disappointed me. Admittedly, if I had known this is the direction the band was going, I likely would not have bought it at all.

Natasha Bedingfield is talented, but the album sounds like a boring episode of Ally McBeal from the late nineties..

Scarlett Johansson´s album is horrible, I have heard many covers of Tom Waits' songs in the past (some are very well done), but none of the songs on this album has any soul, which is the main ingredient to Tom Waits' music.

"The Odd Couple" by Gnarls Barkley Sounds like a bunch of drug heads going on a road trip. Please, give me a break. This stuff is not music. A child can make noise but you expect more from adults calling themselves artist or musicians.
I purchased this junk based on a recommendation from Sound & Vision Magazine. What a mistake. As I listened, I started doing paperwork because it was so horrible sounding and boring. Then this mess became like torture. Couldn't finish listening to this trash.

I've never been a big fan of Kaiser Chiefs, although I do own the previous 2 albums and the dvd Enjoyment. I always thought they were trying a bit too hard to be clever, and they kinda got away with it and they had the songs to back it up, but this time around they have missed the mark by a long way.

Well, this was a much awaited album, guaranteed to make Snow Patrol a leading artist in the british music scene, until they released it. We've been offered a wishy washy mess that just shouts laziness and complacency.

I can't believe there's all this talk of The Saturdays de-throning Girls Aloud and the Sugababes as the top girl band around. Where both those bands are edgier, The Saturdays just churn out the same tired old pop sound. Their songs are just mediocre.

James Morrison´s album is absolutely forgettable. I have listened to this a few times now and it engaged so little with me that I now struggle to remember anything about it, even the good single with Nelly Furtado can´t save this.

Miley Cyrus's Breakout album is more of the same. I will admit, some of the songs are pretty catchy but thats just because of the arrangement. If she wants to be considered more of a writer then she needs to "breakout" of the mold of boy craziness.

I enjoy John Legend´s last two albuns. The thing that makes him stand out of the crowd is the soul and feel of his music, accompanied by the beautiful piano.
I was soooo disappointed to pop this cd in the player and find out that it is just like any regular R&B album in the stores. Nothing special!
xoxo bitches. -
