Greg - I agree with you about the live version on the Self Titled LP. Perry's singing is much more emotive, and the little guitar solo at the end is cool. The studio version has no headspace in the sound, it's just in your face. The vocals sound like a wail too.

First, how come Nothing's Shocking is less listened that Kettle Whistle ? Even than Strays it's not normal. Anyway I was here to talk about "Jane Says", still today I tend to prefer the version on the live debut than the version on Nothing's Shocking, (which is great as well), it has such a beautiful and peaceful, relaxing sound, it's so perfect with this sunny guitar part and so much more original than the studio version...but when I make someone listen to the songs everyone prefer the studio version. What version do you guys prefer ?

I've been a big fan of this band since 1990 when i was 17. Saw the original line up a few times before they split thankfully, one of the best live bands i've ever seen. I did see them again when they reformed for Strays but it wasn't the same. They were still great but it just seemed to be lacking that special thing that made them so appealing to me to begin with.

A new Jane's Addiction sounding album (you know what I mean) would be highly appreciated...I'm sure Eric can bring a lot of what was missing at the time of Strays...and Perry is still great, Satellite Party album is the best thing by a memberof JA since Ritual. But I'm sure any project will fail before it has even started (or at leats a little after), it's always the same with thses guys...10 break ups, 10 reformations ^^
