What a ridiculous comment -- this is one of the most exciting and abrasive guitar tracks by any Beatle, and it even got to no. 14 in the UK charts, and it has been covered from bands as wide-ranging as PIL to Alice Cooper. People have to keep that VU worship going at the expense of eveything else, however. By the way, Chuck Berry did VU-style feedback on a couple of tracks long before Heroin existed.

Cold turkey, just jump ship !!! I wouldn't know but it sounds logical to me. This was from John's and Yoko's experimental years. After hearing all the music from that era, I must say it is good music to listen to if you have broken your arm ( I had a broken arm when I heard it and John and Yoko screamed so I didn't have to ).

@Driverzx: How the fuck is that supposed to work then? "36 hours rolling in pain" doesn't sound very enticing, does it? Cold turkey is definitely one of the least pleasant heroin experiences.

RE: "Cold Turkey" : Indeed, J.L. hits this one on the head. been there; done that. etc. lowest common demoninator, yet in your face; euphamism limited, but perhaps made more bold the presentation...

@ Lee Spike - Cold Turkey was one of the 1st singles John did after leaving the Beatles, he even offered this to the Beatles but they rejected it. So, he put it out himself w/ the Plastic Ono Band. He wrote it but what was to be custom then, he credited it as a Lennon/Yoko single (Plastic Ono Band)

"36 hours, rolling in pain. Praying to someone, free me again." Sounds like my life right now.
