Son muchos los artistas que se han visto influenciados por la idiosincrasia de Jonathan Richman. Argumentos como los que en la sencillez se encuentra lo elemental, lo básico y lo puro, son los que respaldan la habilidad de este autor, el que fue durante los años '70 la voz cantante, y nunca mejor dicho, de los Modern Lovers, un grupo básico para entender aquello de la new wave y los cimientos del indie en Estados Unidos y, por supuesto, en el resto del mundo.

La habilidad antes citada es la que hace referencia a su capacidad compositiva, reflejada en su lírica y en su excéntrica actitud encima de los escenarios. Con 58 primaveras, Richman sigue haciendo lo que le gusta, componer discos y tocarlos en directo. Para esta ocasión, el concierto corre a cargo de la revista Ruta 66, que es quien organiza el evento. Richman contará con la ayuda de su guitarra y la inestimable presencia de su amigo baterista, Tommy Larkins. El material que viene a presentar es de rigurosa actualidad. Tiene, por una parte Because His Beauty Is Raw and Wild y ¿A qué venimos sinó a caer?, álbum editado por el respetado sello Munster Records y que representa una colección de canciones antiguas, muy queridas por el público español. Como podréis imaginar, la mayoría son en castellano, aunque también encontramos temas en italiano y francés.
