Biyografi

Kerry Livgren (gitar) ve Phil Ehart (bateri) tarafından kurulan iki grubun birleşmesiyle büyük bir grup kuruldu. Kerry’nin grubunun ismi «Saratoga» ve Phil’in grubunun ismi «White Clover» idi. Daha sonra bu iki grubunun birleşmesiyle grubun ismi «Kansas» oldu.

Kansas sıradan bir rock grubu olarak kurulmasına rağmen çabuk bir şekilde 70’lerin progressive grupları Genesis, Yes, King Crimson’a benzediler. Özellikle 1970’li yıllarda büyük başarılara imza atan grup «Carry on Wayward Son, Dust in The Wind» gibi hitlere imza attılar ve tüm rock müzik dinleyenler tarafından sevilir hale geldiler.

İngiliz progressive rock müziğini Amerikan ruhuyla birleştiren grup son stüdyo albümünü 2000 yılında çıkarttı.

Like, if you've listened to a song during a vacation, you will remember that vacation while listening to that song and it has a special meaning to you. Same goes for a song that's played in a show you like. It's not that you 'pretend to like' the song because it was in there but you like it cause it reminds you of something you like and cause you have that kind of connection to it. Talking about 'close-minded', I find it far more close-minded to stop liking the song because of the Supernatural fans (which I see a lot of people seem to do here). Because if you enjoy a song, that song becoming popular doesn't make it any worse, right?

    Of course you can also enjoy and listen to the other songs of Kansas! If you want. But from some of the members here it sounds like every Supernatural fan who don't listen to the other songs is stupid or something like that and I think this is really close-minded and mean. That annoyed me a little bit. But of course you can listening to Kansas! I also want to listening to more songs from this band, just because of Carry On Wayward Son. But some people do not and I think that's ok and Kansas fans should accept that, I guess. But ok, to say everything you said is bullshit is a little bit...harsh. Sorry for that. :)

    I didn't insult the fans, as I am a fan of the serie. And I don't understand why anything we said is bullshit. They are obviously showcasing a close-minded attitude. Of course if they associate the track to the show it must have some kind of effect on their appreciation of the music. But if you listen to the track for the sole purpose that it was on Supernatural, you are obviously missing a lot of the artistical value in the track. How can you pretend to enjoy the track Carry On Wayward Son and not enjoy the other traks by Kansas, especially on Leftoverutre, considering the song-writing is pretty much the same throughout the whole album. If you like the track featured in the serie, why would you not enjoy the other stuff by the band ?

    How can you all talk about Supernatural fans like shit? They know this one song because of the series. What does it matter? I don't understand the problem. Because they like the song they mustn't listen to all of the songs by Kansas even if they're good. I think it's really close-minded to insult Supernatural fans because they like Carry On Wayward Son. It's the same if I would say all CSI fans are shit because they don't listen to all the songs by The Who. But I don't! Because it's bullshit. They can watch and like the series and the opening but they mustn't like other songs by The Who anyway. I think if a song is used for a series...a fan of this show ever will connect the song with the show. That's why most of the fans like this one song but maybe not the other songs or they're not interested in the band. But this shouldn't be a problem, I guess. That's all what I wanted to say and now you can call me also a fucking Supernatural fan. I don't care! :D Btw. Sorry for my bad english!
