The Meat Puppets 1980 yılında kurulmuş olan alternatif rock/grunge grubu. Grubun en bilinen kadrosu Curt Kirkwood (gitar-vokal), Cris Kirkwood (bas) ve Derrick Bostrom (davul) şeklindeydi. «Lake of Fire», «Plateu», «Backwater» ve «We Don’t Exist» gibi parçalarla adlarını duyurdular. 2002 yılında dağıldılar. 2006 yılında Billboard.com grubun frotmenleri Kirkwood kardeşlerin grubu orjinal davulcu olmadan yeniden toplayacaklarını duyurdu.

I simply cannot understand hatin' on "Rise To Your Knees". All I can think is that anybody who loves the Meat Puppets and didn't care for that record simply didn't absorb it. If you can't like "Vultures", "Island", "Spit" and ESPECIALLY "Tiny Kingdom"...I can't imagine that you know much about the Puppets. Oh, and "Sewn Together" is fantastic. Really does remind me of "Up On the Sun"/"Mirage" era stuff but with better production.
