Bowie really did make this band. All the Young Dudes is probably the only reason they are still somewhat known.

Have always loved MTH. Seen Hunter many times over the years. Ian Hunter is 70 years old next year!! Look out for a birthday tour.

some people hate on juno for being a false indie hit, but mostly they just hate that little teeney boppers are bopping around to the soundtrack when music freaks like myself have been listening (obsessing) to these songs and artists for a while. in actuality its nothing to hate but something to find hope in, the fact that so many people, mostly teens, loved the movie AND the soundtrack gives me the hope that maybe my generation isn't completely hopeless...if some 13 year old discovered the kinks or sonic youth, or mott the hoople because of that movie...yay!

Mott and The Hoople are definitely top albums for me. ATYD is good. The pre-glam stuff is fine, but a bit boring by comparison. And who said Ian Hunter sounds like Bowie? You need yer ears cleanin' out mate! "Violence! Violence! It's the only thing that will make you see sense!"

I love how people hate something for being on the top of the chart -_- . would you all prefer that nobody even heard of that song, and therefore most of those people would not even know what the hell Mott the Hoople is? Be happy at least the band name is out there amongst the younger generation (interesting how that fits with the song's title).

Pre-Glam Mott were an underground heavy rock band steeped in The Stones & Dylan. Their live shows were brilliant & usually sold out in working class parts of UK. To get a flavour of this check out their 4 early albums,or listen to 'Thunderback Ram' from Mad Shadows. Once they had their hit with 'Dudes' & started to appear on children's TV their old audience fell away. Best Song? The Moon Upstairs
