Still dont' hear any Pixies in their music whatsoever, even though they covered Wave of Mutilation. I definitely hear Husker Du though.

This band is cool, but is definitely Pixies-inspired. They're generally a little noisier and more distorted or washed out. But just listen to those bassline/choruses in general on School Girl Distortional Addict.

Almost every band is inspired by Pixies. From Nirvana to Weezer. I think most stuff off their first two albums have a bit of Bossanova/Trompe Le Mode flavor. They reminded me more of a mid-90's midwestern emo kind of indie style though. The last two albums were when they started using more traditional influences and really carved their own way,

I'm late to comment on the subject, but yes, their last live album is wonderful. In fact, I tend to prefer their live material to the studio albums, with a couple rare exceptions (no live performance of Urban Guitar Sayonara lives up to the studio recording, imo). The two Kiroku boxes are also very much worth picking up.
