i love classical crossover but i'm disappointed by most what is sold under this premise today. c'm' on babes, nice singing. mostly not opera (except some arias), and 'contemporary' or 'classical' is a misconception, the bulk of their work is kind of "soprano pop crossover". the problem in pop is that talented singers don't hone their voice and stay with tinny performances. their most serious singing IMHO is on 'Ebben? ..Ne Andro Lontano' and 'Sempre Ricordo', those are well done. but if you truly love opera, e.g. 'Chanson Bohème (From Carmen)', you are way better with maria callas (streamed on last.fm, too, so you may compare).
