the "state of palestine" was never any sovereign entity, not according to even the arab league when they were fighting with israel..until first world war the ottomans were in control of the whole region including the province of palestine, which then was "mandatory palestine" under the british after ottomans' defeat in WWI, which eventually in 1948 was planned to be partitioned between jews (to be called the state of israel) and arabs (to be called the state of palestine), but while the jews accepted UN mandate, the arab league didnt and declared official war on the jews/israel. they lost more land than they hoped, and israel was formed on pre-1967 lines, and jordan "occupied" what is today the west bank and east jerusalem..some arabs tried to demand a palestinian state from jordan but their demands and protests were squashed (often with violent force from jordanian govt of the time)..arab league again lost the 1967 war and jordan retreated from west bank and it fell into "occupation"

(continued) of israel which is the current status..between 194 8and 1967, palestinian statehood demands were met with suppression not only from jordan but also from syria who considered most of the west bank as basically a part of southern syria, just as jordan considered it as a west part of their kingdom (thus they named it "west bank")..there never was any sovereign nation of palestine in the west bank, not even when the arabs themselves were in control of it..again man, please read actual history..it's not a difficult task..i have only given you a summary of the most important points...hope i dont have to write this history politics shit anymore here. BTW i am NOT an israeli, not a jew, not an arab, nothing from the mideast..I am from a totally different part of the world and from a totally different culture and ethnicity.

Their sound is cool, but I would like them to always use Hebrew/Arabic language instead of English.

Just discovered them. I haven't immediately clicked with a metal act this well since I found Blind Guardian.

Pretty good but I got the mp3 rip which seems to abruptly change when the track ends, does the CD have seamless tracks? I have yet to receive it.

Amazing how they copied Tay Zonday (on "Chocolate Rain") during "Chains Fall to Gravity" between 4:32 and 4:45... has anyone noticed?

Musically, these guys are absolutely peerless. But if there's any band that deserves a wider exposure, especially in today's tumultuous times, it's Orphaned Land. Their message of inclusion, love, and support for your fellow people is needed.

As far as I'm concerned, "Brother" and "Norra el Norra" are actual masterpieces. I can't help listening to them.

The band is working on it, but no release date was announced this far. But they just released a collaborative album with Amaseffer, called Kna'an, it's available on Spotify. This is the project's page: http://www.last.fm/music/Orphaned+Land+&+Amaseffer

This band is amazing, I wish there were more metal bands that had middle eastern folk in their sound
