Though it doesn't have to do anything with Final Fantasy VII (One character was called Sephiroth there), it reminds me of some videogames. Don't know why, it doesn't sound any similar.

jep, if my memory serves me right, jews stole/borrowed angels from egyptians. assimilating parts from other cultures is a common practice. So you all have to listen to ulf soderberg, cuz ulf teaches you about history. :D

Maybe because Sephiroth shares similiarities with the Nordic Yggdrasil worldtree. Some believe it is a remnant of Indo-Aryan influences that reached Mesopotamia around 1500 BC. Just like other religions Judaism borrow (or stole) aspects from other religions. Good example is Bhaal. Even monotheism isn't inherently semitic since Zoroasterism and the Akhnaten-cult predate the OT.
