Obviously SoaD were the first band to use eccentric vocals in hard rock/metal music so Sikth MUST be influenced be them... Jesus Metalcore bands are retard magnets. Thankfully this band kicks enough ass to compensate for said fact.

I've listened to SikTh _alot_ after I got rid of the SoaD-rush. As a metal newbie I, of course, started up with the "lesser" bands.. But I've never thought of SikTh as influenced by SoaD? :S

Well, it can't be assumed that they're influenced by Soad (lets hope not), but there definately are some perhaps unintentional allusions... As for Korn, hmmm, yeah I see where you're coming from. Though it should be noted that all these Nu-metal semblances are rooted entirely in the harsher vocals.... The music outside of that is totally organic.

I agree Nocturne - listening to them after a hiatus of a few weeks I can REALLY hear a SoaD influence. And it annoys me, because I hate SoaD.

The only grating element of the vocals in this band (Imo) are the harsher ones, they sometimes sound like System of a down... But I've like this band for a long time nonetheless.
