Biyografi

1997 yılındaki «In Dreams We Fall Into The Eternal Lake» demosu grubun ilk dönem çalışmalarına göre çok daha melodik ve hızlıydı. A Predator’s Portrait (2001), Natural Born Chaos (2002), Figure Number Five (2003), Stabbing The Drama (2005) albümlerini yayınladı. A Predator’s Portrait (2001) albümünde vokalist Björn ilk kez clean vokaller kullanmaya başlamıştı.

Their last two albums are real good, it's the three before that which are the problem. [2] Was an awkward transition period, but the payoff was MASSIVE.

Ryuujitei, you've definitely got a point. I like TLI though, it's good. Still, my favorite song by them seems to be Enter Dog of Pavlov. It's just so well written and full of energy

Their old stuff is amazing for sure, i've listened to some of the newer stuff a few times but the older stuff is more memorable. Probably nothing wrong with the new material, but i have been terrible at keeping up with this band's material, that will hopefully change though xD.

@Zach216 and Infinite_Impact: I'm a huge fan of their older stuff and I've listened to them for many years. I'm just not a fan of their stuff after Natural Born Chaos, except for The Panic Broadcast. I feel that the album brought back a little of the old style, but moreso injected much-needed life with the heavy blues influences. I don't like The Living Infinite much at all and think it's an overly pretentious, half-baked idea with ideas spread far too thin, little memorable musicianship, and few instrumental sections. I won't fault people for liking it though, because it's infinitely better than F#5 through Sworn.

I guess this means not everyone hears the same things the same way. You seem to be a very dedicated fan of the band's music and discover certain nuances in their music not everyone else would identify immediately, if ever at all for a heap of different reasons. Probably because their music is right up your alley. And that's cool. But that doesn't mean people's "ears are not super developed", if they don't hear the same things the same way you do. Different strokes for different folks. Music is experience and everyone experiences things differently.

Oh "The Living Infinite II" possibly one of their greatest songs to date... I mean that chorus as well as the transition in the bridge that eventually builds to the lead and then the driving (slightly altered) chorus... that always blows my mind. Everything in that track does... drumming.

ryujiitei: What do you listen to your music through? When people make those types of comments about nothing standing out, I'm assuming it's just their ear isn't super-developed and/or they don't listen to music through particularly good equipment. Maybe I'm just dedicated but I can name any track of Soilwork's (esp. from A Predator's Portrait or later, all the way up until now on The Living Infinite) almost INSTANTLY. I feel each song is that distinct as well as each album having it's own uniqueness about it. The Living Infinite is obviously a double-album but the vibe to me is just a lot DARKER (plus there's 2 instrumentals on the 2nd disc) so for nothing to stand out... that's a head-scratcher. I love "Long Live the Misanthrope" and "Drowning With Silence", and "Tongue", and "Vesta", and "The Windswept Mercy", and "Parasite Blues"... SO many standouts on that masterpiece, in my opinion
