Way better than any other folk rock band. They're so *dark* ... listen to Fighting For Strangers, All Things Are Quite Silent, Cam Ye O'er Frae France etc.

I found them by accident on internet radio. "Thomas The Rhymer". I've been hooked ever since!

I'm so glad my dad has some of their albums on vinyl, otherwise I might never have accidentally listened to them.

Teenager in California, and I love them! Not only for middle-aged men in Britain.

Heh, Boys of Bedlam makes me ridiculously happy and causes me to think fondly of Richard Dadd. Steeleye Span also has the best cover of Rave On ever, though I remember some of the folk songs giving me nightmares as a small child.

John Martyn appeared on German television In March ‘78 to promote the album One World. The live concert included songs from the album alongside classics such as May You Never, Glistening Glyndebourne and Solid Air. The song, I’d Rather Be the Devil is also included, but due to limited time, was edited out of the show. For more info, visit: http://johnmartyn1978dvd.com/
