  • Black Taj

    4 Tem 2008, 07:26 yazan orangermike

One of my fellow IODAns turned me on to these guys Black Taj. A couple Polvo guys in the band, and the music sounds a little "complex," but they managed to keep the hooks from getting buried in time signatures. Lots of seriously meaty riffage too. It's like Sonic Youth and Swervedriver suddenly getting really really into Steve Miller Band and ZZ Top. The also remind me of Rein Sanction a bit.

    Check out the Beyonder album.

Here's the only video I could find after 10 - 15 secs of looking: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYTzdhN56Rc

    1. How did you get into 29?
    I have no 29, just two 28s.
Jimi Hendrix - I can't remember a time in my life that I ever did not listen to him!
David Holmes - I really dug the music from the Ocean's 11-13 movies.

    2. What was the first song you ever heard by 22?
    Green Day
Christ... That was a long time ago. I remember it was 1994. Basket Case, maybe? Or else The Longview.

    3. What’s your favorite lyric by 33?
    Megadeth
And when you kill a man, you're a murderer
Kill many, and you're a conqueror
Kill them all... Ooh... Oh you're a god!
    - Captive Honour (note: I was a very angry person when this album came out, and the lyrics have stuck with me to this day)

    4. What is your favorite album by 49?
    Phish
Farmhouse. Yeah, I'm one of the poseur Phish fans.

    5. How many albums by 13 do you own?

    Stone Temple Pilots

    7. Is there a song by 39 that makes you sad?
    The Killers
Nope. I'm not a huge fan, surprised they are so high up on my list.

    8. What is your favorite album by 15?
    Pearl Jam
    Ten, definately Ten.

    9. What is your favorite song by 5?
    Bishop Allen
    The News From Your Bed

    10. Is there a song by 6 that makes you happy?
    Collective Soul
    Shine

    11. What is your favorite album by 40?

    12. What is your favorite song by 10?
    Pink Floyd
    Brain Damage

    13. What is a good memory you have involving 30?
    Ramones
I always think of sporting events whenever I hear Blitzkreig Bop. And I love sports. The funny thing is the average person at a ball game who starts singing along "hey! ho! let's go!" probably has no idea of the historical significance of The Ramones. Sad.

    14. What is your favorite song by 38?
    No #38.

Yeah, right. I'm a little young.

    21. What is a good memory involving 27?
    Van Halen
OK, I don't know if it's a "good" memory, but it still makes me laugh. I remember when Right Now was used in the commercial for Crystal Pepsi. If anyone remembers Crystal Pepsi, you remember how fucking stupid it was for Pepsi to make a soft drink that tasted like Pepsi, but was clear like Sprite. It's one of those what the hell were they thinking moments, and Right Now will always remind me of that god damn commercial. I think in reality, it was only on the market for like 6 weeks, but I sure remember the ad playing non-stop.

    22. What is your favorite song by 16?

    33. What is you favorite album by 12?
    Soul Asylum
    Let Your Dim Light Shine

    34. What is the worst song by 45?

    No Doubt - Spiderwebs

    42. What is your favorite album by 41?
    No #41

    43. What is your favorite song by 24?
    Iron Maiden
    Run To The Hills

    44. What is a good memory you have involving 46?
    3 #46
Steve Miller Band -uhh, his songs remind me of my camaro rocking, white trash youth? Somehow, I don't think that was the intent of the question
Poison - see above about white trah and camaro rock
Alanis Morissette - reminds me of skipping class and hanging out with friends in college. Good times.

    45. What is your favorite song by 35?

    Radiohead
12, which includes a handful of live recordings.

    6. What is your favorite song by 50?
    Stone Temple Pilots
    Plush

    7. Is there a song by 39 that makes you sad?
    The Killers
Nope. I'm not a huge fan, surprised they are so high up on my list.

    8. What is your favorite album by 15?
    Pearl Jam
    Ten, definately Ten.

    9. What is your favorite song by 5?
    Bishop Allen
    The News From Your Bed

    10. Is there a song by 6 that makes you happy?
    Collective Soul
    Shine

    11. What is your favorite album by 40?
    I have 2 #40s

KoЯn - I guess the greatest hits album? Not a gigantic fan of any one of their regular albums.

    No #38.

    15. Is there a song by 19 that makes you happy?
    Eric Clapton
Layla. It has to be the Derek & the Dominos version, however. The unplugged version is depressing.

    Nirvana
    Big fat NEVER.

    17. What is the first song you ever heard by 23?

    19. Who is a favorite member of 1?

    Led Zeppelin

    The Rolling Stones
    None

    32. Is there a song by 44 that makes you happy?

    Glenn Miller
    In The Mood

    46. Is there a song by 9 that makes you happy?
