fact is FB is one of the very rare i can tolerate when doing 'at times' pure' breakbits thingies (maybe because as says perfectly serbanned he was doing it always with some kind of blendings, at least initially)..but it is very limit for me too then...but at least i can finish (& repeat) ) often those albums with him, it is rare enough too..even REOM, KS..doesn't mean a lot coming from me (beeing really not a fan of pure breaks style) but in a way say a lot too maybe :) ) ;)

i honestly hate that fucking ''super hyper idm breakbeat'' and the ''slow downtempo bland breakbeat'' shit flashbulb used to have in m3, girls suck but you don't, and i think even a few tracks from resent and the april sunshine shed, but it's good in resent

when i listen to tracks like binedump and chik habit, my head hurts, the breaks sound so goddamn sharp, and listening to flashublb breakcore is kinda less satisfying than listening to venetian snares' goddamn husikam rave dojo. kirlian choices sounds great, love how he evolved his super fucking shitty idm sound from m3

Talking about Arovane.. i'm rediscovering here with great delight his full discography those days (always liked it..one of the real very best..) : really excellent music (very) soft breaks+pure ambient: rare & precious, definitively..& only very FEw are able to reach that level so beautifully! : arovane+bola+isan..FB, plaid at times maybe too..occasionnally any of the others quoted too, but rarely (more into pure spacy quicky breaks..already different..i like much less already by now..)...the full relatively new label Ultimae too (HUVA, Solar Fields, Aes Dana, Carbon Based LF, etc..), all excellent too..in pure ambient..needless to say it is the style i prefer here those days..anyway) some really fantastic stuff in the genre..! and only FB can reach that level sometimes imo; pure delight then. damn, good old arovane, bola..yes :) (thx for Fleischmann name btw, i will check that one..sounds interesting if similar, thx :) ). ps: i see what you mean there, Ragnar, somehow agreeing..)

I'm liking Reunion because it's just MUSIC,but I think when he gets into breakcore stuff he's overstepping himself, he seems like he just thought that music was pretty cool like Radiohead - I can't stand their IDM/weird electronic stuff after Aphex Twin and co. but I still like some of their normal songs because they should've just stuck to that in the first place

well, i did a few posts sooner, Ragnar59..i could only repeat them..maybe better not;)..for me, not liking especially the break parts, it won't be KS for exemple..but rather things from 'Resent And The April Sunshine Shed or better, Reunion'..well, basically, everytime he is pushing the bill out of just breaks, precisely..coming almost to pure ambient, etc..breaks specialists tend to praise KS or REOM apparently (obviously so)..but also have (like you) often those kind of second thoughts apparently (comparing him, then, to others well known major names they know, etc..)..those others FB albums i tend to prefer, as for me, seem to be lesser known (logically) by the usual breaks fans too, for another audience, possibly too..well, etc etc..)

then again I don't like Richard Devine or Autechre, and Boards of Canada got old, and I haven't really enjoyed too many Squarepusher songs but I guess he did a lot of things with beats first so whatever

what is 'the best' of The Flashbulb, anyway? I really don't know much about this guy but I checked out the top tracks and the Lawn Wakes and every track that had a music video to it... to be honest it seems like 99% of his tracks are about 2 minutes long and 40 tracks on an album and I can't be bothered to look for the really good tracks - I think he would bother me less if he didn't do this genre of music, if he just did rock music with some electronic elements it would make sense of he just feels like he does the breakcore thing as a gimmick. Is Passage D a 'good' track or is like his 'Avril 14'? Because I think that track is so awful - if I said Aphex has better melodies maybe I meant he has a way better sense of harmonics or something like that. Some of his tracks it's easy to forget they were even made on a computer. Stuff like Flim, etc. and anything from SAWII. Flashbulb's just too clean and sterile for me, at least the tracks with beats

well, nice links Ragnar59..always interesting to have direct YT links to 'see' some music concepts those days..) but well..i don't really see the superiority of those tracks above the best from TF, anyway : too many easy 'break beats' laziness in a lot of those selected tracks you got btw; at first i liked a little too, but after a little while it (that whole genre) is really growing old quickly, that style of easy breaks ; always the same too, almost..good atmospheres created here and there at times obviously, anyway. You just miss something about TF i think too btw; he just doesn't do only that..i could try to collect links too from YT to expose that point, with his superior melodic diversity and subtlelty sense (in a totally original way, not just breaks..not just KS in his bag too..), etc etc.. but always good to widened the choices, i guess)..interesting links too..you know and prefer mainly the breaks tendencies so, ok..but not necessarily superior and for everyone too..:)

lots of people own flashublb at making cool idm beats, but lfashublb's all about the melodies, and yes aphex twin knows how to make lots of acid wankery in mt saint michael. i thought you were talkin about his melodies even though they do get a bit boring in stavl

I'm assuming you've heard the tracks on Drukqs, too? Like Mt. Saint Michel/Saint Michael's Mount, and Ziggomatic 17 in particular
