@ XxwutzxX: That's because the entire point of deathcore is reduced melody in favor of heavier guitars, bass and growling. It's not a copycat of melodeath at all (the same cannot be said for metalcore).

Good (old) melodeath features better performing quality, yes. Newer bands does not play as sophisticated as the old one's did. At The Gates' and Dark Tranquillity's early works are very complex, features strange rythms, syncopation etc etc
