Nice to see some Dr. Strangely Strange (but somehow oddly normal) here. I almost got the chance to go and see them a few years ago. "Heavy Petting" is one of their best albums. Nice to also see someone else play "Trees" -- do you not own "The Garden of Jane Delawney"? Either way, good job!

Thank you for your message. Well, I've tried to get into the music of Judee Sill several times, but did not succeed yet. Maybe I should try it another time. And as for the other two, I did not listen to them yet, though last.fm always recommends Linda Perhacs to me. But I'm always too lazy to listen to "new" music. I most often stick to the stuff I know. :D

I have listened to Renbourn, Denny, Fairport Convention, and Steeleye Span, but there are a lot of new names I need to acquaint myself with, it's much appreciated, thanks.

I see you really like your UK folk, any suggestions for a fellow Bert Jansch / Pentangle fan?

Don't mind at all. I love Giorgio Moroder. He was Trance before its time. The crowd at the club that I was DJ'ing in loved "Together in Electric Dreams." The also loved "Never Ending Story (12 inch version) that he did with Limahl. My favorite LP that he produced was the soundtrack from "Midnight Express" I have plenty of PSB too. All of my 80's stuff I have the original Vinyl -- part of my DJ collection. I have done my own remixes of both the Moroder pieces. When I DJ'ed, I love to create my own remixes on the fly. There is track called "99 Luftballons" by Nena that had both a German and an English 12 inch version so I would play the first verse in English and second verse in German or maybe the other way around depending on the crowd. Been to Nova Scotia. Spent 4 days in Halifax back in 1975. Beautiful city and province. Being that I am a US army brat, I been many places but now reside in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Funny way to meet you! Canadian music is coming to Europe with the Indie "hype",but there are somes oldies such as Neil Young and Leonard Cohen that I really like. About Maria de Lurdes Resende it's funny that even in Portugal there's a lack of memory about her.She belongs to a generation when that easy listening music was presented to the people on radio and TV,a good looking face, orchestration and naife lyrics (we had a ditactorship, couldn't make further). We were very influenced by the french culture at the time, so similiarities with Edit Piaf may have some bases. But what we can call the portuguese Edith Piaf is Amália Rodrigues, she's claimed as the best portuguese singer so far.Meanwhile a generation became composing songwriting, like José Mário Branco, Zeca Afonso,Sérgio Godinho and Jorge Palma.I rather prefer this ones.Seek some stuff from them... it's a shame that you wouldn't understand the lyrics, but maybe your friends can help you! Tell me if/ when you got any suggestion!!
